I was thinking the same but actually firing with the crystals, such as quartz, amethyst and other minerals that can withstand way beyond cone 10. Ever tried?

Do you like your pieces that thick or do you just find thinner slabs crack?
@HollyAnnArtworks
@HollyAnnArtworks 4 месяца назад
I tend to like them a little thicker so these are 3/8 of an inch cause that’s what my rolling sticks are cut to but 1/4th of an inch is sometimes what I’ll do when I have a slab roller available but they have a higher tendency to break!

I really love how you defy the first rule we learn when we are throwing, cut your nails short, but I can see you make it work. And me an my daughter hate having short nails, plus we only throw on the wheel once in a while. And I seem to work fine with nails too. Love the pot too by the way.

I used to love to wear my denim apron with the split in the crotch and ties around the leg. I would use a fan for teapots and lidded jars, mugs etc. And, remember to rotate and flip your greenware or it will warp. For bowls especially can use a blast of heat from electric heat gun on the inside curve preserving structure to tool.
@timothymccarthy7747
@timothymccarthy7747 2 года назад
I throw the nob on to the lid using a cherry bomb size of extra moist clay and refine with a shammy. My lugs are rolled coil bone shape, then dropped to flatten, angle cut, rolled edges with a divet made in the connection area, scored and slip and applied to pot with shaky squish. Pulled thinly enough, also with extra moist clay. Cloth can texture the lower lug attachment. Even your 45 tool can sculpt around and then smoothed in with slip.
