The conversation touched briefly on the subject of opera. My very first encounter with Brandi was a RU-vid video of her singing ‘She Used to be Mine’ with Sara Bareilles, which struck me as being an almost operatic performance. Although not a very good recording because of windy conditions, I was so taken with it and played it over and over. I’ve been a devotee ever since, always on the lookout for anything I haven’t seen before. I’m so grateful to Brandi for her music and engaging personality, not forgetting the twins and other members of the band. She’s coming to UK soon to support Stevie Nicks in her Hyde Park concert. Unfortunately I’m too elderly to attend that kind of event, but I’m hoping there will be lots of kind people posting RU-vid videos.
Sarah Elfreth is terrible, as a rep she has proven to have a history of no reading comprehension skills. She actively votes on laws that are objectively unconstitutional, knowingly violating her oath of office, disrespecting US citizens rights, and brags about it. At best she is a fool wasting the tax payers time and money on laws that will be over turned because they are illegal/unconstitutional. At worst she is a tyrant who is proud to step on people because it makes her feel good. Do not vote for this filth.
I was born 13 years later so I obviously don’t remember it but I’m doing research on what happened that night and I even visited the Dakota building in July.
Where have you and your band or not, been in my life time? I followed Stevie Nicks and Fleetwood Mac for so long. I think I blocked you out unfortuately. But Im here now in NC. And you're going to be here feb. 22 in Durham. Its 2023, and you are sold out. So disappointed. You are so damn awesome. Just wanted to tell you. Best of luck to you and the family.❤️
Those twins are something else, and Brandi is just a sweetheart. Seems all the other players they attract are also just lovely people... these folks are saviors to me, they have got me through many rough patches along the way... God bless 'em!
I'm sure this is an unpopular opinion... but I've kind of lost interest in Brandi over the last several years. I'm just not a country/americana fan. And while I'm glad she's doing the music that she wants to do... I REALLY miss her older style. Hearing her sing "What Can I Say," just sort of hit me. I LOVED her music before. Her voice was so unique for that style of music. It just has this cool country edge. And it just showcased her voice so much. Now that she sings country, her voice just doesn't sound as unusual in that context. I mean she's an amazing singer, don't get me wrong. It's just not as interesting anymore. I've listened to her older albums here and there, but I haven't watched her sing any of it live in a long time. I didn't realize how much I missed it. Sad.
I just finished watching the Netflix doc about Woodstock 99. I want the HFStival documentary, about how we all went, kicked ass, didn't burn anything down, and had a blast.
I’m so glad to learn from this that Painted From Memory is being prepared for rerelease in the form of some special presentation with new material; I adore that album. Thanks for sharing this!
I just wrote a whole big spluuu on Brandis Washington prison set of Avangaline (sp?) .. Talking about how maryland doesnt give second chances especially to female felons and I keep saying there's a story beyond the paperwork people don't care they see the F word and shun you immediately ... I just realized you said Annapolis , Washington and Baltimore ... Im in Annapolis well edgewater southern point,.... I didn't know she came this close or did u go to her? Just that she did this is mind blowing no one comes to Annapolis lol!!! Learn new things everyday lol thank you
Excellent interview......but I'm pretty sure he doesn't want to be called"...Awesome....Jesus Christ" ;>) Seriously though, bang'up job! Wondering if there isn't some "Security Tape" of the Let It Be after-party.....probably silent....but still. Also thinking about the conversation between hisself and Randy Newman......did they talk shop.....gossip.....complain about "the kids" ;>) Thanks again.
I was in college and heard the news the next morning when my alarm went off with a Roanoke radio station playing. I'll never forget the DJ's words...."It's a dark, dark day in rock-n-roll history. John Lennon was shot dead last night..." I was so stunned I couldn't get out bed. I skipped all my classes that day. Just couldn't. My roommate's words were just as memorable, "I don't know how you can be this upset. It's not like you knew the guy."
