I always tend to forget that Aloy is a literary clone of one of the smartest minds of "the old ones" and that's why she can adapt and understanding technology so quickly, and has unparalleled smarts.
One thing I really appreciate about this scene is how it shows Aloy operating on a totally different wavelength to everyone else. She is intelligent enough to understand everything that was told to her inside the mountain, and she has to basically dumb it down to something understandable to the rest of the Nora. She knows they won't understand if she tries to explain GAIA or Zero Dawn or Hades in full, so she explains it as the Goddess blessing her to lift a curse placed by the Metal Devil. She has to speak it in their language. But she was always beyond how they all talk about these things, because she's a clone of Elisabet.
The game is actually factually very correct. Imagine 2000 years ago trying to explain some scientific knowhow to someone, or trying to explain why certain things behave this way. They had to dumb it down to either superstition or based on religion.

@@FreemanicParacusia Sylens is such a great character to have around. He is a perfect foil to Aloy, but as an ally. Whenever she's feeling sorry for herself, he doesn't hesitate to tell her to stop whining. When he gets too much of a smartass, she reminds him that he's not all that. A great duo.

I just found this scene last night, and ooooh man I cracked so hard when I realized what happened to her. I started sobbing the moment I saw her appear on the display rather than around the table. And man the music....the fucking music....it just made the whole thing hit so hard. So....hauntingly epic and melancholy. I think throughout this all, like Aloy, I had built this idea in my head that she'd get some resolution, some...message from Elizabet to Aloy, a bittersweet hello and goodbye, that she was passing off the torch to Aloy or something like that. But to see her do this, that she willingly traded her life to protect GAIA just makes this so much more heart wrenching than a message could've been. Man...this just hits really hard. And while yes she's a fictional character, I wish her fair winds and following seas.
When I first played this game, I was so very close to finishing it when my first PS4 Pro fucked up. Texture stretching, and the game kept crashing 2 minutes after I loaded in giving me the same error. If this wasn't the quest I had just gotten to when it messed up, it was the one just before it. The last quest I did was the defence of all mother mountain and entering the mountain. I _finally_ replayed this game a few weeks ago, and holy _shit_ am I glad I hadn't gotten to this point before the game started messing up. I wish I could have finished it sure, but if I had seen this and then the issues started it would have been so much worse. I love this scene, and it made me tear up when I watched it, both Elizabet's actions and the theme kicking in. It should have been Faro man, it was his fault to begin with. *; - ;*
Right now I’m playing the game getting ready for horizon forbidden west and for the most part aloy seemed like your generic main character but this scene right here is where I wish the game had more of. Aloy showing more raw emotion. From the looks of the new game it looks like we’ll be seeing more of aloy being a fleshed out character as well. But low key I liked how she didn’t really expect them worshiping her because all her life they shunned her and she had to work hard her whole entire life now that she entered through the they wanna treat her like royalty. Hopefully forbidden west has more fleshed out moments like this one
"I want to go home." Final line had me in tears. After completing her life's greatest work at break neck speeds, she finally admits that she's exhausted and just wants to see her home again.
I am still amazed at how brilliant the story telling here was. Characters could have been more flushed out and the voice acting could use some work but the result was breathtaking. This is a Witcher quality rpg.
Exactly my thoughts. I mean I will always prefer the Witcher, but this game is so exciting, the story and the storytelling. In other games you can become bored, but I can't wait to find and listen to every little device and to read every little note. My only problem is that as I write these words I just start this mission, but I read almost everything about the game and it's story even before installing it. And I still can't wait to play it through.
