I do CLF, and would love to learn this form, but I must ask....does it bother anyone else who loves CLF, that almost all power strikes are with the right side only?
It seems to me that many Chinese Martial arts are fairly one sided( right hand over left). I thinks it's just because most people are right handed. Hung Gar does a pretty good job of mirroring on both sides.
Did not see any over extending. I suppose "bastardized" Snake Style is why with other Snake Forms there is exaggerated or over extended moves during routine. I appreciate the Grandmaster demonstration.
+iyed hammi None of the videos published by the Plum Blossom show the forms in their entirety. This reduces the chance of non-PBIF schools emulating the movement without proper instruction. These videos are not meant to be training videos, but representations of the diversity of the Art.
You are correct, currently there are no schools in your immediate area. The closest schools are in Minnesota. There is also Distance Learning which you might consider. Information for that is on the web site, as well. Good luck in your training.
Thanks, but I'm in Michigan and I doubt he has a school or classes of any kind here? I was thinking about getting a couple of his DVDs from Tai Chi Magazine.
Thank you. I know Plumblossom video's are edited the way you say. I am just trying to get visuals to decide what seminars to take when GM comes down. I use GM's traiing videos to aide training. But you most certanly cannot properly learn a form from video alone. You need a qualified instructor.
No, it is a different flute form in the video. It is also edited to not show the entire form and is not necessarily in sequence. It is not meant to be a training video.
Greetings. Is this the Plum Blossom Flute form or the 5 elements flute form? We are going to be learning the 5 elements flute form in our next GM seminars and I am trying to figure out if this is what they will be teaching or not. Thanks!
do the chinese open fan ribs / frames shake or they are stiff for example if someone hit with the open metal fan do the metal fan ribs / frames get bent or they remain stiff (straight)
