@@kidbowjb what was horrible quality, the video? I’m working on getting a better camera. Yes, the bucks were not big racks. I shot my 200# 8 pointer already.
Nice shot! I have the same crossbow other than in green. I ended up going with the heavier Tenpoint arrows with the same broadhead that you are using. It's worked great so far.
@@claytonkelly7271 it’s not necessarily hard, it’s a very precarious inlet at times, and since they dredged it last year, it has actually gotten more narrow. It can get very snotty very quickly. That’s why I pick and choose my days.
@@ekhatchboosted Where are you located? If you are in or close to South Jersey, give my buddy Rob Haines a call at Blue Water Boats in Cape May Court House. 609-600-1989 Tell them Bob Stavola referred you!
So many boats at expensive prices with the economy the way it is the average person can't afford them without going in debt so what are they relying on the rich people to buy them
Ridiculous for a 23’ “fishing” boat going for 120k and barely any room up front to fish 2 guys. And people ask why the used market is so high. Bubble has to pop at some point
Nice video BStav. Like you we have caught a lot of shorts this year in VA. Who would think a 10” flounder would eat a 5” gulp grub. So they must be all up and down the eastern seaboard. Amongst the shorts there has been some nice fish caught recently. Tight lines!
A sabiki rig with small pieces of fish bites. Size 12 hooks. It’s a lot easier to catch them small croakers and spot. I filled a bucket up in about 40 minutes.
I haven’t fished NJ waters in probably 12 years since we sold our place in Fortescue. I do get to fish Florida once or twice a year. I retired back in June so I plan to get down to NJ more in the future. Shameless plug warning: When I do get down to Fortescue, we stay at the Charlesworth Hotel on the Island. As far as the regulations go and staying out of trouble, I would always get on the sites, print the regulations out and laminate them. They went into my fishing gear and had them readily available for everyone to review. I have Florida’s, but have not had to print NJ in a long time 🥲. I live in Northcentral PA and fish more in FL. Crazy!
@@donmace4501 I didn’t feel like I was wasting my time. I was having fun soaking up a beautiful day on the water. I was just a few hundred yards off of the beach and was catching other fish as well. If you gotta worry about fuel, boating definitely isn’t your game. lol
@@donmace4501 and I know how to throw a cast net. It’s not like I live in Florida where there’s schools of bait everywhere. Plus, if you watched the whole video, I talked about using my cast net.
Gr8 video ! My best yr for me - most caught in Stone Harbor / others Avalon . My biggest 24” on my 1 st trip of the yr. @ SH - I caught 5 keepers in 4 trips ( the double was 20”& 20 1/2” SH w/ my buddy Mike who caught 19”. ( 1 st time for 3 I. The live well !!!! ). Then the next day it was cold -in SH so , cruised to Avalon & my buddy John caught a double ! So , 9 keepers , in about 15 trips - going to SH tomorrow ( on sat 8/31 ) wish me luck 1 st time fishing alone . Got skunked on one trip ( unless a 2’ stingray counts ) Bob - God Bless & thx for sharing ! 🇺🇸🙏🎣❤️
been out 24 times for short (2 - 3 hrs.) each time, all behind north Wildwood. As of yesterday caught 37 flounder, only 4 keepers, biggest 21. Best day I had was when my son from California and his wife were with me on July 26; we caught seven, all in turtle creek, no keepers. Haven't counted the skunk days but very likely 40 percent of my trips. Lots of nuisance fish and if I wanted to catch them I could probably had as many as I want, especially on sabiki rigs with fishbites worms.
It's been rough due to time constraints and other scheduling issues for me this year. Normally out in the surf once a week and I've only gotten out once this whole season!! Have time scheduled to get out this weekend. I did get 3 boat trips in and two of them were struggles.
As long as it's a good sized Sea Robin they're good to eat. Skin like Catfish. We're up north outside of Raritan Bay. Decent Fluke and blues. Although the shorts far exceed the keepers. We've had hot spells, overall I think it's been cooler than normal. Keep grinding. Although, can we really call any fishing "" grinding "? Lol! Keep safe and upright! God bless!
Took my girls crabbing yesterday (Saturday 24th) We were at the 80th and 81st bulkhead there in Avalon. 2nd pull of the crab traps and my kid pulls up a 19" flounder. UNREAL MAN
You ain't kidding BStav...went out Thursday and yesterday to LBI (Barnegat Light), had a keeper 19.5 Fluke and bunches of Sea Bass...kept one on each day...had a large Trigger on a wreck close to shore on Thursday. Nothing yesterday. yesterday was a tought day fishing but hey, keeper Fluke I didn't get the other day...lots of small-ies I feel you on the boat issues...had a long time fixing my trailer...batteries are expensive...I have 5 of them on board lol
Fluke have been tough up here too B. Got out yesterday with my son and a couple of his friends. We were just a hair short on all our fluke. They had fun though so to your point, was great to get my son out there . Been a while for him. Another great video brother!!
Sea Robins are decent for b--t. Not bad in the frying pan. Lop off the head, clean and skin. Like a dogfish. Skate is spelled s-c-a-l-l-o-p. Lol! Bay Scallop.
