I am TK with him and you already knew wich moves i use insane to me but they suck so much Ass against People who are familiar with the Match up its rlly painful to Play him in god ranks i Play zafina now having a blast bc no one have a clue what she does its fun but i will Never drop dvj he is my homeboy for sure . :)
Even Momo is out of cope. I guess many others already stopped playing this trash version of DVJ ( and T8, since nothing else can Scratch the itch. Only AK in T7 was similarily fun and he is still missing in T8.)
let me ask the comment section, are you all GoD? Didn't this man say ranked is fine even at GoD? Did you guys struggle to reach gold rank or something?
i peeped that the game eats down inputs a lot especially when u do it quickly having the shortcut tends to eliminate it to a degree so i find myself getting a lot of dickjabs when i got from dvj to kaz
@@ChristopherWaddelow Hardly. He's got excellent safe mid pokes, almost safe sidestep lows, safe pressure, even a safe DP. He doesn't even have any launch punishable moves, not lows or mids
@shaghilathar3588 everyone has safe poke mids. Him having b3 and df4 isn't special at all. Almost safe isn't a thing, you're using deceptive language there. Ss4 is -12 everyone can punish that. Safe pressure. What does that mean? WR2 is high. D1,2 can be sidestep launched. His DP is safe in heat. It's -13 otherwise. He does have launch punishable moves, df1,2, and db3 and f1+2,1+2 and f2,1,1+2, and d1+2 not to mention the huge amount of moves that can be ducked and launched. Db4,3 is a low that can be launched. Df3,2 3,2 4,3 b4,1
@@ChristopherWaddelow I'm not talking about safe mids, I mean strings that end in a mid but a still safe. It's still too much reward for -12 risk which isnt much A move being steppable or duckable isn't launch punishable
I think DVJ is just one of several characters that need design philosophy shifts and reworks. For him, he's probably the easiest to alter/rework, just nerf the ham stuff a bit, strengthen the tekken tools a bit like that -3 df1 or even re-add the mid extension, and rebalance hellsweep risk reward. Maybe it goes back to tag 2, where only CH launch normal and heat only regular launcher. That way they can strengthen his tekken tools unhindered.
So just cause kazuya's HS wall splats against the wall means that Devil jin should get high damage aswell?? You also said Kazuya's poking is 10 times better so what now devil jin needs Kazuya's poking toos? And you complained about dvj's i13 WS punish? You want Kazuya's ws12? Why are you comparing everything Kazuya has to dvj? Kazuya is not dvj and devil jin is not kazuya. Lastly you want rework but thst wont happen, dvj archetype is the type of character ppl don't wanna see being strong partially for the reasons you mentioned uf1, b3, u4, guard breaking charge
"Good character for playing ranked" basically just means "full of bullshit", and if the other player knows about your bullshit, you can't just breeze by with Devil Jin.
what if as kazuya i ff4 an opponent laying down at the wall, im pretty sure df4 after the fact wont wall splat but would instead just leave them standing. is this true?
Good news I have never played Devil Jin outside of story...now for the bad news the roster is changing and its hard to tell what's going on with the tier list or how much it even matters. Because even though I've been playing nerfed characters...if I know the character for a longer period of time I tend to win more regardless of where the character is placed. Devil Jin was never in my roster so even if he was deleted it doesn't effect the conversation...the Reina and King nerfs were the first big scares that got me thinking about this stuff.
It feels like there is "T7 trauma" in the balance decision-making, like with how afraid they seem to allow DVJ and Steve to be strong (For some reason Feng is still up there though...)
to be honest, Feng even before nerf, has very low usage, and even though he's easy, he's not as braindead as drag, you can on him all you want, but a character so rare is barely an issue.
@@mothman566 Feng is rare in pro tournaments but rampant in rank. You cannot justify what Feng is currently because you dont see him enough in high level tourneys.
I miss your Noctis play. I think at the end of the Tekken 7 lifespan you were the best Noctis in the world and that's saying a lot. A true Noctis purist. I saw combos and set ups no other person was doing while having high tier Tekken fundamentals. I thought for sure you would be all over Victor. I hope Victor catches your eye at some point cause I love how deep you dive into a character.
i honestly hate the devil jin hellsweep combo, the fact that it' takes so long with the laser shooting the second hit for tornado, instead of just first hit tripping them, and the stupid Mourning Crow to shooting laser in the air, that whole animation, i honestly hate it, and i say this as a long time DVJ player
can someone tell me why buff dvj? like im not really against it, I just want to understand the mindset. like for what exactly? so he's "just" stronger? for his mains feeling better? to make him more viable in pro competition?
Devil Jin is not as weak as you say. You are bad, as the player! Kappa. Good content as always, Momo. I enjoy your takes on Tekken 8 and balancing in general. Honest about the BS of the characters while still bringing up good points and comparisons. There was an interesting comment I read on DJ the other day, saying he's a waifu character. It kind of struck me, rung true in a way. What are your thoughts on it?
I watched a Smash bro pro doing a video about balancing. He said easy characters are always weak and hard characters are always strong. Obviously Tekken didn't get the memo
Yup, soon as I hit Tekken Emp I’ve been slapped around. My usual strats just finally got figured out. And he doesn’t have much outside of knowledge checks and setups. He’s not like, unusable. But I feel like I’m fighting Michael Myers with a screwdriver.
