I’ve been fishing for at least 2 hours and haven’t caught anything in the last 3 days. Done every piece of advice for onshore fishing since I don’t have a boat. It’s really starting to annoy me since I feel like I have a really good idea on fish migration and places to go. Just no bites. I love fishing but what’s the point when no fish bite? Got at least 20 different jigs and colors too.
I don’t like that there is nothing to not like about your channel. You’re pretty much my fishing papa I’ve learned lots from you as someone that is a decent fisherman, you’ve made me an even better antler
Straight mono has a different look and stretch to the rod tip compared to braid with a leader. More glide on the jig. When I use braid, I do always use a fluorocarbon or sometimes a mono leader that is 2-4 feet long.
Years Ago went on a spring trip to Northern Manitoba with some buddies, I was in love with spiderwire at the time and they were using mono and Out fishing me 20:1. I was stubborn and refused to change for the first couple days. Buddy lent me a rod with Mono just to try and Yeah the Braid was the Problem.......
Jason, I've just purchased a Mirro Craft 18' Outfitter boat that has no motor. The old motor was a 90 tiller. I would like to know what your take is on tiller vs side steer. 99% of my fishing will be on Rainy Lake, some on The Missouri Reservoirs and some on Lake Nipigon.
I like running a tiller myself. I like to back troll, like the room and like the boat control. I grew up fishing with a tiller and have always liked running a tiller. A windshield is nice in November or when it is really windy and you have to run long distances. Windshield might also be easier to sell.
Leech is a big lake that you have to respect. You could definitely fish some of the bays on the nice days. Make sure however to check out many of the small lakes in the area, lots of great fishing for small boats.
I have livescope and it's hasn't really helped me catch more fish. I'm sure once I get it figured out it will. It's a skill you have to learn. It's not shooting fish in a barrel like most think
Most to-the-point video I've seen for trolling walleye with crank/stick baits when they're shallow in the Spring. No need to bring specialized equipment, just some normal spinning rods and reels with some 3-4 inch suspending stick baits and chuck them just behind the boat, almost like casting when you're jigging for Spring walleye. I use this method in Lake Erie in 6-12 ft of water during May when walleye season opens and they're in shallow water. Easy, hassle-free method to troll for walleye.
To be honest I think if bass made better table fare they would more popular in ND. Bass are a blast to catch, but as Jason said I catch most of mine when we are fishing for Walleyes. My days fishing are so limited, so I target species that I like to eat. But maybe when I retire I will have more time to fish for fun 😁. Love the videos Jason!
Been to your place several times the last couple of years and had both of my two pedals repaired by you, (i have 2) just took the boat out and notiticed it was slow turning , left and right, so I plugged in the "spare" one that you repaired last June and the turning was normal speed, all good. Guess I need to take it apart and clean it up. What should I look for? Though I would ask the pro first before I take it apart. Thanks, Mike
I used to fish it all the time tiger musky white bass its got everything even giant sheephead just make sure u have a map chip cause there is some sketchy spots of sunken islands its hilarious how nobody bass fishes in nd i miss living there
The phrase "own truth" is not good to say. There is only one truth and each of us has our own opinion about that truth. People need to use reason to form their opinion in such a way that it's fair to others and not just satisfies their personal demons. There are rules pertaining to using all kinds of methods for fishing. Snagging and electricity, for example. Personally, I would restrict using FF in tournaments and see how that rule affects fish and fishing. If I found such a policy didn't achieve the desired result, I'd keep an open mind to other options.
It was tight. If you have a boat less than 19 feet, you might squeeze through but probably best to use trolling motor. This rain might help that however. Lake is coming up a little from this rain.
Hello ! Mr. Jason. What are the size and name of that spinning rod that you’re using in this video and what are the size and name of that spinning reel you’re using in this video and what are the name and size and color of that fishing line you’re using in this video also please. May the lord be in your heart today to answer all of my questions that I’m asking you please and may the Lord continue to bless you and your family and your RU-vid channel in 2024 please 🙏🙏 ! I love casting for shells crawler and red ear and bluegill and crappie from the bank. I do nothing but casting from the bank that’s all I do 🙏

Trolling motor, boat motor, boat, fishing rods and tackle. No electronics except the trolling motor. Those kind of tourneys separate the men from the boys. That's true talent on the water in using your head and what you see to make fishing decisions. Are electronics awesome? Of Course. But how good are any of them without electronics?
