Your group is nurturing and propagating the greatest masterpieces of Western Civilization. All Hail G&S! England's modern savior, Winston C, injected G&S into each of his inspiring and rousing speeches ... Just listen ... Winston knew how to assemble "lyrics" into deadly weapons of war. Sir Arthur and sir William would be proud of Winston's emulation. You all do England proud. Thank you from USA

Winston knew Arthur personally, at least he was a close friend of his mother's.

@@Gravelgratious Thank you for that info. I was unaware. We have Sullivan's brother's descendants here ( in N Calif), a finer group never walked shoe leather. He personally read aloud many of the letters in his possession of sir Arthur writing to his dear mother. Each letter is deeply moving and intriguing. Sir Arthur was clearly devoted and tenderly attentive to his Mom. I understand that Sir Arthur's maternal Grandmother was a victim and survivor of the Italian pogroms against the Jews. He was a Mensch and generously funded his brother's widow and family (at the time, living in S Calif). They speak reverently of their dear uncle Arthur. The Lost Chord is a spiritual Ode to his brother ... an epic masterpiece of divine origin. It is fitting that the most powerful forces for both GOOD and EVIL we co-located in London during the same epoch ... The blessed triumvirate of G&S and Carte on one side and Karl Marx just next door. Did Karl ever attend performances?

Opening with a lone oboe and a sultry temptress dancer ... This is G&S at its best. Isn't this too scandalous for staid England? Bring on the bumbling Bobbies, the quasi-innocent daughters of Major General Stanley and the Pirates who are often orphans.

Despite all of Winston C's other faults, he loved G&S and attended many performances when taking a respite from saving Western Civilization. G & S and Carte are the greatest triumvirate since the Holy Trinity. Now go and soliloquize THAT. Thank you ... keep it up!

That was brilliant! If the cast enjoy themselves, then the audience will surely do! But I always think this particular bit of G & S has overtones of Deux (or Bold) Gendarmes from Offenbach's operetta Genevieve de Brabant!

A delightful performance! Thank you. I've got some of my G&S cohorts to believe that Bournemouth is, in fact, a real city within the British Empire instead of a sister-city to Titipu, conjured up in the imagination of Sir Gilbert. Is that true? Come see the Austin, Texas G&S performances. You are all very welcomed. And perhaps, in Texas, you can pick up some pointers on the proper pronunciation of Gilbert's glorious English lyrics. Sir Winston Churchill and Groucho Marx cannot both be wrong.
