Hello fellow dartist! I just wanted to add that this movement already has a name in traditional Chinese Rope-Dart. It is called "Part Wild Horse's Mane" :)
Thank you so much for this tutorial. I started yesterday with learning 3d and I needed to take a look on some tutorial, and here you are. You explained it perfectly,I can't believe how much this tutorial helped me! Cheers and may the flow be with ya!
This is great, I am a black belt in kung fu and am taking to the self study of the rope dart. Glad to see you have a few of these videos up Thumbs up from me and keep training. :)
3rd Order Motion and 3D spinning are too very different things, 3rd order flowers are patterns with 3 centers of rotation, for a full explanation i suggest googling the HoP thread on 3rd Order Motion. I've got a Tech Blog in the works showing off some 3rd Order patterns among other things
I like it! I'm definitely going to try this, just wanted to share something that helps me understand and learn faster. Pen and paper, by drawing the motions of the poi movements. Example, the 4 petal flower. I was scratching my head over the flower, it's not that hard of a move really (once you get it down). Seconds after drawing it I could easily do it. Everyone learns individually of course, I just wish to help :D
Thanks a lot, for your great tutorials man, i always wanted to learn this technique, it looks amazing, especially when you combined it with neck-wraps when we met at the Fusion. You also inspired me doing a tutorial on wild stallion kicks today, i mentioned your tutorials there and posted it as video-answer here. greetz! ;)
@ britishogo: I use the Sanyo Xacti HD2000, great camera! Light, pistol grip, small, films in full HR; 1920x1080 60fps. Nice work btw on the unintentional busk. JonJon's a mate from australia so yeah it's one of those juggler 'not really serious' poiers suck jokes. damn funny tho. @ Mezzeflame... i'm doing acro classes 4 times a week to get my skill up to a level where i can combine both acro and poi, i have some seriously crazy-ass goals of tricks i want to have down pre-EJC.
