Jiu jitsu is not street fighting or MMA, it's jiu jitsu, a sport. Just because a gi is not something people wear when they fight outside of jiu jitsu doesn't mean jiu jitsu is not useful in those circumstances.....

The only issue is when you pull guard this way, your partner now has the open door to knee slice or cut, or dive in, even addressing your grips. So the guard pull must be combined with an attack quickly.
