yeah, now the next step is to add everything into Discogs or RateYourMusic. RYM handles release year sorting better but with Discogs it might be enough.

The odd thing is that I want to share these KG albums with friends that have never heard them. If we even had a bad quality version on RU-vid, I could share it, they might love it, it could generate a sale. But instead, with nothing being available online at all, RU-vid or Spotify or whatever… so instead, I’ll just have to rip my CD and send my friend the files = no sale. Doesn’t help anybody.

Once all the physical copies are sold out (all of the stuff the Estate sells, including the upcoming final releases; KMG Archives and Shaming Multi-Disc), the Giraffe records could be put up n streaming. from Kevin's Happy Snappy Fun Show Group on Facebook July 9, 2024: "Ky Gil Top contributor is the Projection to release the Multi-Disc in 2025 for the 25th Anniversary? and it's been asked before, but probably worth asking again. @@AllMediaReviewsPodcast Maybe you heard what Today I Caught the Plague became after they changed their name? They became The Kindred. I wouldn't say Lore is progressive metalcore cause there's no harsh vocals but their first EP Ms. Mary Mallon is progressive metalcore so Lore still has a bit of that influence to it. Lore is a very unique sounding album though. Art By Numbers isn't progressive metalcore either. They are most like the band Artificial Language if you've heard them. Art by Numbers is this neoclassical guitar-centric prog metal with clean vocals where the guitar leads are very busy and non-stop shred.

I lost interest in checking your ranking as soon as you ranked 15th Fugazi and 11th Marillion debut album Script for a Jester's Tear. The rest of the Fish era is also very low ranked. This is very disrespectful for such a great band in their origins. Unfortunately in all these bunch of years with Hogarth they have lost identity, personality and authenticity, they have had only flashes with some great songs of the great band they were back in their origins. Even their Marillion logo has lost its identity since the second album in the Hoghart era.

hey, thanks for the comment! I suspect my collection is pretty similar in numbers, although I started collecting Vinyl more or less when I met my wife in 2011. You're lucky to have had your friends to help with the shelves. Part of it is just physical space, and where mine are kept is also in the same room where my wife's so we don't really have enough room for all of the shelving we would like. Perhaps the next home we buy will though. As for Pepe Deluxe, their album from 2012 "Queen of the Wave" is often considered their best (and I have a huge love for it). Although as I've come to learn, their other records are more schizophrenic and diverse. Queen of the Wave is probably their most pop/rock song-oriented album.

12:10 I talked about Toto's Kingdom of Desire Anglagard and Roger Waters I did miss, thanks. Voyage 34 as well, although I think of that for the full version which came out in the 4 Phases in 2004. But from a Canon standpoint, 1992 also the year that came out. Everything I look at shows Orphaned Land s The Beloved Cry released in 1993, although it's sort of a demo more than even a debut EP. I do have it on 1993 list in fact.

Nice picks Kyle! When I look at my 15 favourites for the year, I feel like the theme for 1991 is clearly "this is not that band's best work but it's still decent" cause that statement applies to every album on my list. Here's my 15 current favourites (I probably should have included some others you mentioned like Guns N Roses, but I find them quite overrated, Ozzy Osbourne and Marillion): Mr. Bungle Mr. Bungle Blood Sugar Sex Magik Red Hot Chili Peppers Metallica Metallica Innuendo Queen Sailing the Seas of Cheese Primus Parallels Fates Warning Union Yes Angel Rat Voivod The Tea Party The Tea Party We Can't Dance Genesis Heaven's Open Mike Oldfield Roll the Bones Rush Contradictions Collapse Meshuggah Kerplunk Green Day Catfish Rising Jethro Tull For band's like U2 and REM, I feel like some of their songs are okay but I get so bored listening to an entire album by them and find them both quite overrated. I've heard good things about Savatage and Fish but must admit, I've never listened to any of their albums.

i think you are mostly right about 1991 being a year without a Peak or Best records. Although some do consider Parallels their best record, its hardly clear-cut. I would put Pearl Jam's Ten as their best, but I don't really care for most of their other records, so it doesn't really mean much from me. But many people do consider it their best. Achtung Baby generally is considered 1 of, but not necessarily the best U2 album. REM and U2 some do find boring, or think they are overrated. I guess I used to, but especially with U2, they eventually won me over. I think it largely had to do with hearing Dream Theater's U2 covers and then some of their U2-influenced songs, that had me reassess much of their music. As for Savatage and Fish..I could definitely see you enjoying some of Savatage's albums, although Streets maybe not as much as some of their others like Edge of thorns or Hall of the Mountain King (or my personal favorite, Handful of Rain which includes a masterpiece in arrangement and layering on the track "Chance."). Fish, I guess it depends on your take on his work with Marillion. You may want to check out 1 of his later records "Raingods with Zippos" which features an epic/suite "Plague of Ghosts" that includes the services of Steven Wilson.
