I have always considered Matthias Jabs' lead guitar solo in "Rock You Like A Hurricane" to be one of the baddest guitar solos in all of rock history, second only to "Eruption" (Number One) by Eddie Van Halen. Not because it's super-complicated or highly technical, but because of its sheer sonic punch, energy, fluidity, motion, melody, relevant phrasing with respect to the structure and flow of the song that contains it, yet it bursts out on its own. It's got a 'nervous', choppy, George Lynch/Warren DeMartini-esque quality to it, but totally unique unto itself. It comes in hard, fast and quick and leaves just as quick, with maximum impact, like a hit-and-run blitzkreig lightning strike or a bee sting. Fast, effective, powerful and gone. Its overall 'sound' is intense and totally fits the song to the best it could ever be done. Jabs was genius with this one. Bravo! 😎👍🏻
Pinch harmonic! In case you don't know what that is, it's the squealing noise that you can make by lightly touching the string with your picking hand immediately after you pick the note.
Ese Santiago mora es una gueva, es una versión chibchombian de malmsteen, intenta hacer la misma jetica y todo cuando hace ciertos licks para que la imitación se note más (véase minuto 1:39 a 1:41), que malparido jajaja
Question for you…on the fast decending lick beginning on measure 12 are you picking every note? Looking at your right hand it appears that most of the notes are picked. Thanks for the information. Much appreciated.
Hey man, what you see me play is what you hear on the left side of the stereo spectrum, I then recorded the solo again on the right side (off camera) which is the way Randy Rhoads would double track his solos.
You're Playin it Better and cleaner than Vitta! When I use to play that it was hard to keep it clean without sitting down and giving attention to palm mutting. Your playing it perfect and that Maple neck on your Ibenez is really making that tone PoP! Love it! Replayed it dozens of times to enjoy. Hope you're stil jamming dude and able to make a good living at it!
When I had the thought, I wonder if somebody actually played this on guitar snd decided to search for someone playing it, this is what I wanted to see ❤
