Hi everyone! Welcome to my journey of learning about homesteading, homemaking, and motherhood! I am learning as many new skills as I can and offering tips along the way! On this channel, we are taking as many practical steps as we can towards health, homesteading, and creating a beautiful, inviting home. Enjoy!
Hey! I love that cookbook behind you. Could you do some videos making some of her recipes? Bonus points for using the bread maker too. Trying to talk my husband into getting me one for our anniversary. 😂
WELL... lol i just used cold milk greek yogurt and a little bit of frozen fruit and threw it in there so 😅 i guess ill see how that goes in 8 hours 😂 first time making it didnt measure anything. I just did 3 heaping tablesoons of yogurt filled the breadpan to about half full with milk and dropped in some chuncks of fruit 😅 lol fingers crossed hahahaha 😆
Did you use a bit of wax to secure the bases of the wooden wicks or the glue tabs? Just curious - I’m wanting to make BW candles - I love the smell of beeswax ❤
Question I picked up a brand new second hand kitchen arm bread machine. But it has no instructions. Shouldn't I be able to change the size to 2 lb not just 1 and 1.5 ...
Unfortunately essential oils are hormone disruptors as well as central nervous system disruptors. So sad. Use whole herbs and flower petals to send your products.
You can use prebiotic capsules to make yogurt if you don't have leftover yogurt. Also, the liquid is the whey. You can strain that so that you're yogurt is to the consistency you like. The whey is a great probiotic that you can add to oatmeal, pancakes etc.
Am very confused on when to add my seeds to my Wheat bread (6). I never heard a beep. Add-ins are important to me as I will be making different breads using this format.
That’s awesome! I wish you the best and we need to get you more subscribers! If you’re reading this, please subscribe to her channel!!! Keep up the good work.
Aww 😢 poor apple cider vinegar… I’m glad you’re trying again tho 👍🏻 never tried making my own I buy a gallon of it from azure standard but I’ve read to rinse your mouth out with water after drinking ACV that stuff can eat away at your teeth enamel
THANKS! for ur good videos. I have been using the same Kitchenarm Bread Maker and i write today to see if you have used the feature that makes you Sourdough Starter for you. I tried it but think I fouled it up. Beehn watching, seems like tons of videos, on making ur own starter....wondering if I make it again w the machine - seems like it would not be as activated as doing it yourself? Please tell me if you have made SD Starter this way and IF so - did the bread have a nice and wonderful SD flavor? TKS
I haven’t experimented too much. I know bread flour is supposed to be better for bread but I pretty much always use all purpose and it seems to work just fine!
Thank you so much for your help. Since i follow you my breads are excellent, i even did 3 in the same day requested by my husband. Now i tried twice to do a gluten-free bread with robin hood gluten-free flour. Ho boy need your help, it us too dense, and the middle does not raise. Merci pour votre aide. Francine Varin
Put a coffee filter or2 into a sieve.Add yoghurt let drain into a bowl (this is your 'starter' for the next batch...let drain to the consistency you prefer even overnight ( the longer it drains the firmer it gets) I have made yoghurt cheese and added spices and herbs to use as a dip or for the more firm just added to a sandwich! I also add probiotics (removed from capsule and use around 5 to10) at the same time I add the milk. you can use cheesecloth to strain if you wish..I just place into strainer..I use a few coffee filters overlapping and then the cheesecloth or some fine mesh (well washed sheer curtains are amazing cut into big size works very well) Thrift store find! I have just added honey (or fruit) and frozen it in ice cube trays (I'm not crazy about cold stuff but good on occasion...better than frozen yoghurt in store and a little on a hot dessert is great!! Hopfully some of your readers will find this helpful. Enjoy!!
I learned that when making bread in the machine right away (no delay start) to put liquid in first then yeast and dry.... hit start... for me it did make a difference as I could add warmish water and yeast and it comes out super good especially if making grain bread...also I sometimes beat an egg then fill with water to measurement on cup... (little extra goodness) Also I more than often use coconut oil for my fat. (just sharing) especially good when making the dough for cinnamon rolls or other sweet treats...BTW if you do not want the tast of coconut make sure the jar does NOT say virgin.... it will have no flavour. great for savory frying and extremely healthy too!!
forgive me I meant to say you do the dry first then the wet!! sorry for this 'oops'.....bread comes out a bit lighter (imo) it was a tip from my old (1980) bread maker..still working but I may now have jinxed it!!!! 😄
long time bread machine user (like 24 years making 1-2 loaves of bread every week) ... pro tip: put your bread pan on your digital scale, turn the scale on, the scale 0's to the weight of the bread pan, then when you add your ingredients to the bread pan it shows the weight you added. Press tare button when moving to a new ingredient, the scale 0's to weight of bread pan + current ingredients so you don't have to math in your head. This insures your ingredients are all accurate and doesn't dirty up more dishes that need cleaned. Efficiency is key!
I love that you broke it down with the prices. I make my own sandwich, hot dog and hamburger buns. Will def be trying the naan 👍🏻 I dunno about the pasta tho 😆
Hi Abby 👋 I’m Abby 👋 I’ve also got a Kitchenarm maker and just started my first load of sourdough bread in it this morning. Started my first starter 6 days ago. 🎉 fingers crossed 🤞🏻
I've been making jam for years, so understanding the science is important. Blackberries don't have enough pectin for a set. So I add apple or gooseberries. Perfect set. Xx
you don't need to microwave the milk...the setting will take it to the correct temp. otherwise you throw off the balance f the setting. after the 8 hours add probiotics..just empty the capsules into the yogurt...I do let it sit after stirring to allow it to cool before straining .
Bought this unit for the wife who makes bread by hand. We tried it a couple of times. She says the quality of the loaf it makes is a waste of flour. When she is making bread she can monitor every step in the process and determine when and how a step may need to be altered. The machine is preprogrammed. And the end product is vulnerable to being a collapsed block of cooked dough.. We're sending the unit back. But it was at least a good experiment.
I'm glad ur wife is so good at making bread but for ppl like me, I've made countless loaves tried all kinds of recipes even an old family recipe and I some how ruin every load 😊 I need this
Karo® Dark combines the natural sweetness of corn syrup with a small amount of molasses and has no high fructose corn syrup. With its more robust flavor and color, it is ideal for many baked goods. High-fructose corn syrup, also known as glucose-fructose, isoglucose and glucose-fructose syrup, is a sweetener made from corn starch. Light and dark Karo syrup is ok to eat because it is actually a natural thing. High fructose is man made and can cause inflammation in your body. Caramel looks awesome ❤
Congrats, it's tiring, but rewarding. I've been a SAHM since Jan 2019. It was hard at first, I got lonely and depressed. It got easier as my first got older and I joined Hike It Baby. I'm starting to work on homeschooling now. I love spending every day with my 3 littles and plan on having 1 more very soon.
I think you have made such a great decision for you and your family. The stress will definitely shift and you will find a greater peace of mind overall. I would strongly suggest focusing on making relationships with other shams. Create a community. Get out a lot (walks count!). Also work hard on being flexible and knowing when things are good enough. Good luck to you ❤️
There are so many ways that you can cut expenses now. You have the time to check insurance rates more often, shop different stores for best sale prices etc.
I just wiped down the heating elements with a damp sponge with a little Dawn then wiped it cry with a paper towel. I never got any smoke or burning smell. But the sponge and towel were a little dirty.
