Hi, I'm Harmonia! On this channel, we do playthroughs of mostly Nintendo related content, in addition to Video Essays! I list all our playthroughs in reverse chronological order, so it's easy to find any part of the history of the channel! I'm studying game design in University as I work towards a Bachelor of Science in Computing Science alongside a Certificate in Game Design, and much of the material I use and arguments I make in my video essays is based off of the material I learn during my game design lectures! In addition, sometimes we'll host charity events to fundraise for organizations such as L'Arche or the Stollery Children's Hospital, incredible events like that reinforce to me what a force for good video games can be!
Almost all the playthrough content here was streamed live from Twitch, at www.twitch.tv/acousticharmonia
Oh it's interesting they kept the GBA in. I think the luigi's mansion remake for the 3ds also kept the original gameboy, even though Dark Moon had a completely different console (can't remember now if it was the virtual boy or the DS). I think the pokemon game remakes changed what console appears in the player's house but I might be wrong, because I've never really played any of the remakes besides Leaf Green and Fire Red.
Yeah I don't recall either, I know the latest games just feature a Switch. Part of me is kinda surprised they left it as is here but I'm glad they did.
I agree with what you said about the we vs them when it comes to all sorts of media, it's been a thing for a as long as these existed, because it is some primal instincts in the human brain going off from what I heard. While it is fun to share what you think of a game, please be able to keep that opinion regardless of what others say they think of certain media, and let others have the right to an opinion as well. Edit1: While I was playing my copy of pokemon shield, which was almost 4 years ago now, I remember it had some fun parts, like the harbor scene, but after the first 2 or 3 badges it was just to get over with it with practically no emotions. The twist villain gave me no real emotions other than "oh yeah, this guy". I did purchase the dlc later on, but I don't think I even touched the second part of it because of how dull I found the game to play.
Wow you found SOME parts of Pokemon Shield fun? Guess that means you like playing trash games, and supporting an evil business that deserves zero support at all because they've done some things I don't like. You're a part of the problem for the games being so bad. Can't believe you're playing games for kids anyway, maybe it's time to grow up already.
That ending joke made actually watching all 7 hours of this video perfect~ For those seeing this comment before finishing the video, I implore you to watch the full video to fully appreciate the joke at the end~
These games really bummed me out because I was really excited anticipating a gen 4 remake and what we got was a 3D demake. What's worse is that it will probably be a very long time before this generation is revisited again. My favorite generation getting this lazy treatment. Huge disappointment.
Okay so two things, the bowser scenes are really funny, and I really like the idea of the princess peach subplot with the A.I. There's so much going on it makes the world really come to live, like with the koopas or the little pikmin creatures.
Cool! You figured out tech unlocking! :) Yeah, that's the one main side effect of that method of adding levels, but as you can see, it doesn't take too terribly long to fix it. I did leave comments about how it works, but sometimes there's just no substitute for working it out in-context. Good thing Ganabelt left such a strong impression. XD Indignation was, at this point, just a normal advanced spell, but it was so powerful in this game that it gained a reputation for being tremendously powerful, leading to it becoming increasingly hyped the further the series goes, so Ganabelt's mystic arte was the culmination of that trend. :D Now, if you chose to swap out your EX Skills on your characters and switched them from S Type to T Type (or vice versa), those blue artes they were learning would change. (Mind, you need to fight battles with more T or S EX Skills equipped to move that little slider and see this change happen.) Around this time, Raine tends to learn the spell Ray in T Type, but I prefer to temporarily swap her over to S Type so she learns Holy Lance instead. :D
Would be interesting to see a XIV playthrough, just may wanna set a boundary on what you consider ‘completion’ if you decide to make that a series on the channel. Also may wanna ensure you take your time with it if so. XIV is a long ride, and a new expansion is coming out at the end of this month.
Okay, real talk, the groups copyright striking at the Cynthia theme were literally called 'MUST_CS' and 'APRA_CS'... "CS" clearly standing for 'Copyright Strike'. So CLEARLY, whoever's doing it is doing it solely to fuck with you. Because why wouldn't RU-vid actually have a competent copyrighting system?
Two year playthrough refers to a different game, but yeah this one is definitely taking quite a while as well and making me fall behind on other channel projects...
If only pokemon company would give gamefreak enough time and freedom to make the remakes like they did with gen 3&4 with firered leafgreen and heart gold and soul silver
Unique locations like Boggly Woods are one thing people love in a Mario game. That's why when Mario games in the 2010s reused generic locations, people complained about that.
Is it me, or does the jump window for Power Bounce feel random? I have an easier time using Super/Ultra jump in Super Mario RPG, but Power Bounce and Goombella's Multibonk feels tricky somehow.
Having played this game all the way through at megalan I can say that I never quite got it figured out across that whole playthrough To be fair even though they're long I've only put two sessions in this game, haven't touched it since then, so haven't really had the chance to practice yet
