Greetings from northern Cali. Now you know to bring a regular long handle shovel, and not a large spoon, and a large mesh sack that oranges come in. Nice video. I love digging for all kinds of clams. Watching your vids for years. Good work.
great day of fishing. thanks for the video. was wondering about the spider thread, seems to have helped. I was wondering if larger hook size would reduce chance of fish getting off. what do you think?
Ugly stick are definitely good, but for a rod that doesn't weigh as much I REALLY like Shimano Trevala. Used to be a $100 rod, but they discontinued them and re-released them as Trevala B for 2x the price. Because of course they did. The 6'6" M/H is hard to beat. Anything from rock fish to Tuna all on the same rod. Have caught a 65lb halibut on mine, it had zero issues with it.
Get some salt water in a bucket and put them in the bucket above the bottom. They will spit the sand over several hours and it will fall to the bottom. I use a crawdad trap keep them off the bottom.
I have dock and boat crabbed at kellys. Great place! The owner is kelly. He saved my friend’s life when my buddy sank his boat in the bay. Kelly rescued him and didn’t make a big deal out of it…but it really was. Cheers to kelly!
PK! I moved to Oregon from Ukraine in 1988 at the age of 5. Moved to Florida in 2021 my heart is still and always will be in Oregon. Your videos keep me connected to my roots. Thank you and god bless.
Purple varnish are way too much work for my liking.. they are abundant everywhere, Lincoln city in the bay.. Newport over by the boat ramp they’re everywhere. I prefer gap, butters and razors way more bang for your buck. And after watching your video fully, you had a few “mud” clams, you probably didn’t realize that at first but I saw a few mud clams a lot of times people grab these clams without realizing they are full of mud because they’ve died previously..
Good looking out sir! Safety first. You're trying to make memories not the news. 🙂 Always enjoy your content! Thank you for sharing your adventures and knowledge.
I would like to collaborate with you, do a catch and cook are you interested? We go catch together and cook together. You cook your dish and I cook my dish.
Hey PK, love the videos. Rather than risk burning up your truck, you can make a real good wind break for cooking by taking a Lowe’s or Home Depot medium size moving box, flip the lower flaps all facing out so you can put things on them to weight it down, and then fold the upper flaps out too, and put your propane stove inside out of the wind. If you need room for a handle to stick out, just slice one of the sides down a little and put it on the downwind side. If you put your gloves inside the box on the ground, the heat will get them warm. I like to put rocks or bricks around propane tank to shore it up to prevent tipping. Good luck on shore lunches. Maybe see you at Surf Fishing derby
