So, are the vocals at the end from 3D? They always sounded weird to me, because they kind-of sound like Horace Andy, but they don't have the flare that he has, and they kind-of sound like 3D, but not nearly as breathy as usual. Also, who's the female vocalist that occasionally does back-up for that section?
The first time i heard this song, my friend showed it to me and we were baked out of our minds. It was the most memorable experience I've ever had while high.
The lyrics say "fettered and flies" and Guy sings "fed to the sand flies", a great way to convey two pieces of imagery at once. I know this was released later, there was something, though, really unusual, wonderful and positive, unexplainable, happening in underground UK in the late '90's, that this song and imagery conveys very well to me. Something that needs revisiting.
I have a very intimate memory connected to this song. My girlfriend was out of town so I decided to surprise her by waiting behind her house and when she came back, texting her to look outside. Because that's what she always dreamed about (at least she claims that). I remember arriving 2 hours earlier, so I bought a pack of cancers (NADSAT, haha), went for a walk to the other town and couldn't stop listening to this song. I'm glad I've associated this song with such beautiful memory, really a masterpiece to guide you through nostralgic days. For those who care, she opened her window, saw me, burst into tears, closed the window and then kept silently watching me while I was freezing in the rain at 2 AM. Ended up sleeping in the car and then taking her to my place in the morning. Unforgetable..
+Ben Dalven Peut être parce que Damon Albarn s'occupe du synthé? (Maybe because Damon Albarn (Gorillaz Creator, composer and God) making the synth line?
Although the video's awesome and the music sounds fine, I have a hard time identifying this with Massive Attack. They could've told me this was Gorillaz or Archive and I would've bought it. D.R.
