Would be great to meet up and ride with you both. Going to be a new resident of the state. Getting out of the cold weather of the north east. Would be great to talk shop on these Indians I have the 2018 Roadmaster
I'm also in Texas, Rockwall. Where did you get your bike tuned after the install? I will be ordering pretry much the same set up for my Springfield. Those Zombies are bad a$$!!
Don’t waste your money on Captain Itch, although it is a quality product. Reason being; One, it actually traps more heat to the rear cylinder. Second, gut your converter and get rid of the heat source. Third replace your seat as the factory seat is metal on the bottom. I went with a Ultimate seat. I have no heat issues at all and with the converter gutted, it runs way better. I have a very nice used Captain Itch for sale.
I really enjoy my roadmaster. My only regret was that it doesnt have a built in electric pump for the suspension I did pop for the speaker lids on the bags That paid off
Hello you crazy cats from the uk your indian looks the biz but why in the name of thors testicals did you not wear helmets with face shields in the cold ? I ride k1600 bmw and goldwing 1500 stay happy and lucky pip pip
Just got mine. Just going to install it. Lets see how much of a PITA it is by the time I get done! I have a 2019 RM, burgundy metallic. Got the red insert over tan leather. Saw some pics on their site, should look good. I see you have the same problem I do. Vertically challenged, it's a stretch for me to reach the kickstand sometimes haha! And now that I have finally completed it, what a PITA! If that bike wasn't in gear, the kickstand would have gone out from under it and it would have lurched forward and fell over. Had to push and press so hard to get it to finally go on there. It looks good, and should help keep some of the heat down. I don't have a cat in the exhaust, and it's always hot on the right side. Especially the lower leg being so close to the motor housing too having short legs. I've always fought the seat putting it back on. Glad I remembered to put the tank screws back in from the work I was doing before I installed this. Such little tolerances under the seat. I'll see how it looks and next time maybe get the area wet around the mounts, and see if that will help mold it in, if I could get the seat back on it again haha! Makes me not want to take the seat off for anything. I had the seat off doing some wire tidy work to the extra lights I have tied in to my Custom Dynamics Load Isolator. Nice bike, looks great! Hope these leather flaps are helping keep the heat down for you, especially if you're down there in TX!
I'm thinking of this mod myself. What was done to the bike to tune it afterwards and was it absolutely necessary? Currently have a Springfield with stage I intake and exhaust, just want to lose the CAT. Besides the TAB 2-1-2 pipe what other costs involved? Thanks.
@@Peeziejizzle Heh, I am still waiting for an answer. I just got a little retirement check from my company last week so I was just thinking today about finally getting that TAB 2-1-2 pipe, and your reply just popped up. How weird is that?
Perfect. I took my header pipe off and gutted the converter myself. Then I wrapped the converter area with a layer of exhaust tape. No more Captain Itch shield needed, so I ditched that. No heat anymore and now the back cylinder won’t be trapping excessive heat anymore. The bottom of the factory seat is metal, so I replaced my seat with the Ultimate seat. Amazing and you get instant more power. Ride on!
Loud! But sounds good. I've got Reinhardt slimline duals with RC 4.5 on my ultra . loud but mellow. I thought you left your front headpipe and used the back pipe from tab with the connector pipe.
Beautiful looking machine. The Indian motorbikes are really well put together. The bike sound nice TAB performance really did a great job. Take care and stay safe.
