Unfortunately, this is a butchered version of the original TV ad, which ran about one minute. (I suppose it was later cut to ribbons to save money/air time.) United had bought the rights to the Asian routes from the bankrupt Pan Am, and UA created this commercial to show off the countries it was flying to. The uncut ad included Singapore, Taiwan, and the Philippines, and the images/action/sounds were edited to gracefully accompany the great Gershwin music. The choppy score on this ad gives away the damage done to the original ad, which I’ve been unable to find.
I'd give anything to hear two other True Value jingles in full: True Value hardware, it's more than a name and You can do it with True Value, True Value hardware stores!
Good sign-off production. I especially liked the National Anthem accompanying NASA footage from the moon. But the Lord's Prayer video needs some proper background music. All those images run SILENTLY, with the SLOW fade-out at the end, was (Dare I say it?) a bit creepy for near 1 a.m.
