Coffee wakes you up. Sugar is Granulated Happiness. Coffee and pie are essential for understanding mysteries, for arriving at the Truth, especially with regards to Twin Peaks. Interestingly in this interview, just as Lynch was dropping an important clue about coffee and pie, the interviewer interrupts him to laugh at Lynch's seriousness about the importance of the two. Her inability to see (perhaps she needs more coffee?) destroyed the clue. Further evidence of this dichotomy is near the end when the interviewer scoffs at the reasons Lynch doesn't cook in his house. His senses are alert. He is awake. Lynch doesn't cook in his house because the smell in the air and the film it leaves on the walls. There's nothing absurd about it, as Maclachlan confirms while laughing, "It makes complete sense to me." It's only absurd to those who refuse to wake up. The interview abruptly ends with David clumsily confirming with Kyle that their director-actor relationship is one where they finish each others sentences, "Yes, we..." "I think we have that..." "Yes, we..." "Do."
This is worth it for Lynch's responses. The journalist showed an astonishing inability to take Lynch seriously or consider the point of FWWM (and "Twin Peaks" in general). 4:30 even Kyle MacLachlan can't stand her.
She is so hot and sexy!! She nailed the role of Laura Palmer and she just really adds so much to Twin Peaks universe. She melts my heart as she is a really sweet individual, and she broke my heart playing Laura as I just empathized with her so much. Twin Peaks Fire Walk With Me is excellent and Twin Peaks itself is awesome and Sheryl Lee is awesome too! 😍😍
clearly none of these guys undersood the film or Lynch - moarning about creamed corn!. May be some didnt see the tv series in full and hence didnt get it from there. Also, this type of film needs multiple viewings to get beyond the surface. Plus we now have the TP event series (3 series) to give us a great prespective.
What a dumbass interviewer. You can tell she thought he was a dumbass after he made the log lady comment because it didn’t cut to her reaction. It’s obvious she cared about this project and he undermined her insightful response with some misogynistic response.
Julee Cruise, the singer best known for her collaborations with director David Lynch and The B-52s, has died. Her husband, author Edward Grinnan, confirmed to NPR that Cruise died by suicide, and had struggled with "lupus, depression and alcohol and drug addiction" in the past. She was 65.
Her speaking voice is so different from her singing voice. The "David Lynch" singing voice, not the B52s style. I hope she's gone to a better place. I hope we all do..
Most people wouldn't bat an eye nowadays at seeing "superfans" recreating famous scenes at location shooting spots, just goes to show not only how far ahead of the curve Japanese were in fandom and otaku culture, but also how much Western society has changed with the internet.
I saw her with the B's on this tour in Springfield, Illinois at the State Fair. I had no idea who she was and why she was there instead of Cindy, but she looked hot to 18 year old me. lol And apparently she did to other better fans than me standing nearby who were convulsing in orgasmic fashion yelling "Juleeeee Cruuuuise!" 😂 And that's basically the only reason I remember her name! I actually just looked her up a couple of weeks ago... Rest In peace, Julee.
