I am a songwriter, poet, ballad collector and filker from Yass in Australia. This channel includes my recordings of traditional folk songs, my own songs and parodies and some regular pop music covers. I play live in the Yass Valley region semi-regularly and also at regional music festivals and events. My main musical influences are from the Celtic tradition, the likes of Luke Kelly of the Dubliners, Alistair Hulett and The Corries. I also have an interest in topical songs and protest music of Woody Guthrie, Phil Ochs and Pete Seeger. I enjoy taking ballads from older texts, such as the Francis Child collection and setting them to new music. I also play a few pagan inspired songs on my hand-made Anglo-Saxon lyre. Excellent song Daniel! Sounds amazing! I drink about a whole pot of coffee a day and about 4 cups of tea. Life`s simple joys are sufficient enough. We still have some humble mom and pop shops in the states but sadly many have been forced to permanently shut down because of crime. Even Starbucks is closing many long standing iconic locations because we no long prosecute criminals if they rob the store or smash in windows etc.
@@DanDDirges I was very excited when I found a small coffee roaster in the German quarter of Columbus, Ohio, last October. The other good coffee I have had in the US was in Charlottesville in 2012. We are lucky to have this small business running in the town here.
