Greetings. I would like to know whether I have a light-related phobia (heliophobia for example) or a real photosensitive epilepsy. May you give a short answer, please? What I have when I play or watch modern movies and games, especially the ones with advanced graphics: the sense of fear, slight shaking in the legs, but without losing power and coordination; light uncomfortable feelings in the head, etc. This is all. I am not the medical expert, but from my point of view, epileptic seizures must be more severe and cause at least partial loss of control over the body. In my case, it feels like a pure anxiety and psychological disorder. What do you think?
I had a seizure when I was 24. after that, I've had brief (10 - 30 seconds), recurring episodes of aphasia, sometimes accompanied with brief seizure symptoms, as well as a few more full-on seizures. several doctors have given me clean brain scans. medicine can usually keep it under control, but every few months I'll still go through a week of brief episodes of aphasia. been dealing with this for 20 years. mine is non-fluent: I don't know what you are saying, and if I try to put my thoughts into words, it comes out as gibberish. hoping there's a cure one day . . .
I was diagnosed with Epilepsy in 1981. In 2008 I started having periodic episodes of aphasia after a simple partial seizure. It can take 5 - 15 minutes before the aphasia stops. During that time I am unable to communicate (gibberish) but have no issues with understanding others. My wife and family know the telltale signs. Prior to retirement my employer made a work from home accommodation for me. If I had a seizure I just texted one word - "seizure" to a coworker to let them know. After a seizure I need to rest for a period of time but can bounce back within an hour or less. It can be very frustrating when aphasia happens. I carry a laminated card with me telling people that I have Epilepsy and may not be able to communicate if I have a seizure. The card includes my wife's name and phone number so she can be contacted. I've been fortunate that I haven't needed to use it. Hang in there you are not alone.
@@baserunnerrosco127 hmm, the card is a good idea to use with people who don't know my condition. with my wife and co-workers, when aphasia happens, I just point to my noggin and shake my head and they know to just give me a few minutes.
Why does my specialist want to jump to non epileptic events ,multiple TBI'S left fronto -temporal impacts and left HS (Atrophy ) and bilateral lesions with aphasia (broca's) expressive ). Aquired learning disabilities and autism spectrum disorder with ptsd female
Hello, and thanks for these videos. I've been having seizures since 2012, which caused a car accident. But i was told at 2 years old i had a febrile seizures. I skipped 24 years with no seizures. And been having them since 2012. I was on Keppra in the beginning. Which i no longer take. I now take oxcarbazepine. And i am noticing rashes and random bumps on my skin. Also i suffer from pcos. Its so much with these seizures 😢 i need help. The meds arent helping me. Thanks for these videos
I feel so lost.. Can a seizure make your elbows & wrists so stiff they bend and get stuck to your chest? Feels like toes and fingers are twisting backwards, arms/legs/face numb, mouth gets tiny, can’t relax eyebrows or can’t stop blinking, extremely confused, eyes keep looking to one side, can’t move my arms/legs and I’m fully awake thru it all. Just as quick as it starts with unexplained rage it turns into I can’t hold up my head and I sound drunk. Then it’s back and forth between Im not there mentally to I am, then not, etc. I can hear but I respond with drawn out nonsense when I’m “not there” and don’t remember what I said. ER said panic attack, but I didn’t panic until AFTER I couldn’t move my limbs and face. Tried to explain this at a neuro follow up but the nurse mocked me so I got up and left crying
PLEASE 🙏 for the last three months or so I’ve been having these “episodes” where I don’t shake or anything but I feel scared and very strange feeling in my body. and then I..what I call “black out” what I mean by this is I may as well have passed out because I remember nothing but during this time I am awake! And I’m responding to people when I’m spoken too. This time it was way worse I lost a whole week or more of my life I remember nothing. But it’s only about a week before I’m about to get my period. And I am 6 months postpartum. 29 years old. I am slightly overweight and I’ve been taking spironolactone and metformin for pcos. It seems since I’ve been taking these meds on time daily I’ve been having these episodes. Any advice is greatly appreciated! Thank you for your time. ❤
I have absent generalized seizures ever since I was 17 years old. I had my first seizure when my menstrual period started. I am 56 now.I take Keppra valproare 7.5ml. Does Keppra cause me to be violent? I was told I get violent sometimes when I have a seizure. I read where vitamins D3 and vitamin D6 are vitamins E vitamins V6 vitamin B1 vitamin F Folic Acid 1-4mg Omega fish oil magnesium deficiency 300-310 cbd oil health diet might help. Has anyone tried the things I have mentioned has helped your seizures? I have auras too. My heart will start beating fast. My legs start jumping. My hands will shake. I have day yah view. I can stop my seizures when I lay down and plug my ears where I don't hear anything I make sure it's dark in my room and I take a nap and lay down for a while when I wake up I feel fine.
Hey so I just want to ask a personal question for myself. I'm just here for research. I have been experiencing excessive tiredness which seems to be becoming worse every year. I have been to the doctor and done blood tests and sleep tests and everything but nothing seems to be causing it. So now I have been looking into epilepsy, I never considered this before because I feel like its highly unlikely. But I did always experience the following things: Zoning out, I often stare out into the distance and I daydream a lot to the point of barely noticing what is happening around me. I don't this voluntarily and it can happen at any time. Because off this I often feel unsafe while driving because I barely register doing it. Memory gaps? When I'm zoned out i do see things and I know I have seen them but they dont come through to me. Often parts of conversations don't register and I have to fill in the gaps somehow. I could only ever describe it as feeling as if I'm distracted by daydreaming and just cut out the real world somehow. Last thing I have is Jaw pain. This might be totally unrelated but I have a really tense jaw and Im trying to focus on relaxing it but often during the day it suddenly hurts which means I must have tensed it but I dont remember doing it. Long story short. I have no idea if I'm at the right adress but I saw your youtube channel and I thought I might ask. Could you please just tell me if epilepsy might be worth looking into? Or should I continue searching in another direction.

Me!!!😂 Steven Johnson's Syndrome from Lamotrigine(aka Lamictal)...full body blisters w/ heat rash, high fever & trouble breathing. I dont take any pill(script or OTC) without serious research myself! SCARY!!!
@@kit81cat Yea! i looked it up and it says only 1 out of 25,000 people taking lamictal will get SJS from it. We’re the very very unlucky 1% lol. But i hope you’ve recovered from it well!
I’ve been taking theses pills for this kinda thing, I’ve been randomly laughing and it was seizures in school, at my house and playing video games. It was really painful seeing my family cry cause of me and I’m better now it just sucks being to a hospital getting so much pain in you it feels like your not you you know. I have videos of me doing it and I’m just watching feeling my heart is not beating I’m scared and when I have these seizures I never noticed them until someone told me I did it
