is it possible to use a floating line using an indicator and adjust the depth to reach all points you are covering here?

Very interesting, however I'm not sure about the 18in rule for the knots from the fly. I fish a a lot of still waters and do so with a 18ft leader and 2 or 3 droppers plus the point fly. I have caught so many fish on the droppers which are no longer than 6'' long therefore only 6" from the knot. Also why, unless fishing dry flies, would you use a tapered leader on a still water when you generally fish more than 1 fly at a time? just a though.

During hot days they normally go deeper. And more lathargic. There a hot blooded fish, so during cold there more active and tend to move more shallow.

I have an ancestor Hannah Creighton married John Belman a shoemaker in Philadelphia PA. He was from Cornwall but his family had settled there from the Netherlands. Are we related?

Interesting theory Sir...I caught trouts in streams with the similar pattern inside their stomach but instead of leech its cased caddis larva. You might be on to something good with this theory.

Thanks for another great video! I will be eagerly waiting for the next one! I do have one question. I know you mostly fish lakes but I live in Calgary Alberta and have access to the beautiful bow river. I took up fly fishing a year ago and really struggle to catch fish. I have greatly improved my casting over the last year and mostly fish nymphs under an indicator. My biggest issue is finding fish. I Try and fish the areas that look fishy but mostly only catch tiny rainbows. Is this normal for a beginner? Also, how does one go about finding holes and runs in a river while wading? I do a lot of online research before each outing but I rarely find the river features that others have wrote about! Any input you have would be so helpful! Thanks

Neat tool, but I don't think this ties an actual blood knot. The two tag ends are supposed to back through the center (between the two sets of twists) in opposite directions.
@nealkuo
@nealkuo 4 года назад
That’s what I thought; it is not a true blood knot…but it is strong enough, as some people swear by it.
