I had the privilege of tasting Finca Altamira '01 a couple years ago...nectar of the Gods. Massive juice, nuances, layers of ripe flavors, endless fruit, ripe tannins. Malbec Mendoza, on the other hand, is great and consistent, pure, dense, jammy plummy red fruit...but the Fincas truly stand apart and are a rare racy breed. Cheers ;)
