Kinda makes me think of Roy Clark. Another brilliant musician that had the ability to play incredibly difficult things while being funny. They both obviously loved what they were doing 😊
Great song and never as appropriate as now. Bernie is a top songwriter and has a way with words. I have recently been learning I don't want to put a hold on you, you soon Realise that each word perfectly matches the melody to this jaw droppingly good song. He should have been a huge star.
I loved Berni Flint when I was a teenager back in the 70s. I haven't heard him in years. He still has a lovely voice. This is a beautiful song full of meaning
No canned laughter, that was the 400 audience in the BBC Television Theatre laughing along at his performance. This was probably one of his stand out moments playing this piece on any television show. He had the audience in the palm of his hand.

I write too much and have no concept of time but want to add I keep coming back to this song and wish something more could be done with this version of it. I wish I'd told Berni how super talented he is years ago, I knew promo agents were interested in him, they were there when I went to see him. I think our Mr. Flint just wanted to stay who he was - the lovely person he is! I also forgot to thank you Jon for this.
