I got pulled over in Daytona Beach for my headlight being out. I ended up getting lucky and wasn’t issued a citation or a warning. I was given a voucher saying that the state would pay to fix my headlight. In my car I have a short and that’s why my headlight was out.
What fuel pump did you run? Im rebuilding a 302 and it has the ford e303 in it! Im gonna run a edelbrock 600 with a summit hei...just debating on what fuel pump and regulator!
Carburated cars are extremely reliable. Theyre super simple. I consistently got 23/4 mpg out of a 82 GT and my 83 gets 20/21 consistently. You need to udnerstand them. Theyre easier to keep running compared to efi engine. EFI is nice, but carb will outlast while the wiring will corrode and computers die!!! but I love my 86,89, and 93
This thing sounds so freakin good! I got a fully straight piped 302 in my old LTD that will do the same thing when you let off in the high rpms. I seriously want to find another 302 powered vehicle especially with a manual and do what you're doing in this vid. Screw them expensive hellcats man! This is where the real fun is especially when you can easily make more power!
I tried to have it all in at or around 36*. 15-16* at idle to really hear the cam. No I didn’t run vac advance either. Ended up tossing the hei. It was cheap garbage. There was play in the shaft before it hit the points causing it to never be locked in basically. It would move all over the place at idle. I want to buy a nicer hei to play with and see if I can dial in.
I know this is a few years old so Idk if you'll even get a notification for this, but do you remember about what you had your timing set to here? I haven't wrenched on my fox in way too long and I just wanna get started up again with some basics. I love the sound of what you have here and really leaning towards a straight pipe set up the longer I think on it.
@@unclejacksyoutube6496 I did that and got it back in. More details: 1. Removed spark plugs 2. Loosened header fully, but not removed 3. Cleaned the dipstick tube, and then oiled the entire end up to the o-ring 4. Unbent the tube (was bent during removal) 5. Using a flexible LED light I was able to visually locate the hole 6. Lined up the tube with the hole - this was probably the hardest part, even though I could visually see the hole, I just couldn't maneuver the tube to the hole at all, but after trying many different angles I got it lined up. 7. Started pushing and wiggling to get it in the hole. 8. Finally got it to start going into the hole, but now I was stuck at the o-ring 9. I reached down to as far as I could on the tube (to the straight part) and pushed toward the hole as much as I could and it went in, and I could confirm it was set with the LED light. 10. I lined up the bracket with the engine mount and put the bolt in. 11. Inserted the dipstick and confirmed there wasn't any binding. So hopefully the crank doesn't hit the tube when I start the engine but I haven't checked that yet.
Thank God for this video .., now I need to make the tool to ram it home. Considered using a Dremel tool to slice the tube to get the bottom of tube to slide in
Dude, my Dart had that same DV valve on it except it had no plunger in the OEM valve so when I put the Forge plate on in its place, it just vented forever. I have a 2016 so I can't run both because there's not enough room. Just ordered an OEM Valve on ebay that has everything I need. I'm fucking livid.
Ahhhhhh yes e303. they say freinds don’t let friends by the letter cams. I say I have about 10,000 healthy miles on the motor since rebuilt. Junkyard 95 GT 302 stock valve springs, stock rockers, stock heads. Stock replacement. Nice lope, nice little powerband. I’m happy with it.
sweet video man I appreciate you taking the time to film and record, I know Im a bit late to the video but it would be awesome for us to see an updated life video!
