All around a excellent video, I never considered the full choke making more gas pressure but you're absolutely right that would create more back pressure moving the gas piston more aggressively, nice thinking on this. Thank you for sharing very useful information.
Great gun. Start off with high brass rounds and get it worked in cuz low brass ain’t powerful enough to send the bolt all the way to the rear and it doesn’t cycle right. After awhile it works fine with all of em.
do you use low brass and high brass shells with equal results? My Boss 25 on its first day out didn't cycle 4 (2 00 buck and 2 slug) of the 5 brands i tried - they were all low brass. it only cycled the black aces high brass 00 buck. thoughts??
I just found out that im actually cherokee (i was adopted) i would like to go to the reservation in hopes to unite with my kind. Would you be willing to share the location?
Thanks a lot for the video, you have the most clear video on reassembly and detail as to what to do to what components I've come across. Greatly appreciate it, can't wait to try out this firearm.
Just wanted to thank you for making the disassembly/cleaning videos for the Boss 25. Made knockdown, cleaning and reassembly easy. I have a newer model Boss 25 which doesn't use the screws in the front guard or the screw you have to remove to in to front of the upper to separate the upper/lower units and saves time on knockdown. (Wish they would have done something to make it so the bolt in the butt stock was easier to access. Considering the Tooth & Nail butt stock adapter.
Your charging handle seems to be barely in the bolt assembly, mine seems to not want to separate upon disassembly, any tips as to why it won’t come out? I’ve put a considerable amount of force to get it out but don’t want to go further 🤷🏻♂️
Good morning, my friend, excuse me, I have a question about the boss 25 with a new American flag, very nice but it stings very slowly and does not damage it with the help of the video and you do not see anything strange, this new one, something similar happened to someone, and if it were so could you help me with your experiences greetings friends from Mexico.
Can someone clarify using slugs in this firearm , I’ve heard no slugs , I’ve heard use the 4 star choke only , I’ve heard no choke installed , I’ve seen videos of guys firing slugs through the modified cylinder choke installed, it’s a smooth bore barrel so slugs designed for smooth bore barrels shouldn’t be a problem with the right choke , reason is slugs are magnum loads , I have several at 1600 FPS and would be great for the break in process
You can use lead slugs with any choke size, however, they are more accurate with cylinder and improved cylinder. Modified and full will make them less accurate. But they are safe with any choke except maybe extra full. However, if you’re using steel slugs or some sort of specialty slug that is not a soft lead Foster or rifled slug, I would recommend only using cylinder or improved cylinder for safety.
Why in the beginning of your comments do you say everything went through no problem but then toward the end of the video you acknowledge the fails of the Rem 00 3"? "Everything" did NOT go through flawlessly. And while you offer a good theory about wrong chokes for rounds that fail, remember that Citadel says about this particular model to NOT fire anything less than 1300 fps or more than 1500 fps, and they don't say that based on what kind of choke is available - just to stay within those limits. GREAT video on the disassembly, but PLEASE - do another on RE-assembly! It's very easy to say "just go in reverse," but this gun has a lot of parts, so re-assembly would be a helpful second video. Thanks!
This was so bullshit! The disassembly part was pretty informative but There are no two screws on the side of the hand guard of the Boss 25 that i just bought a few days ago. Also there is are multiple bald ass lies in the video where they say that they only had 2 3/4 shells and that there were no failures during firing. The video clearly shows failures on the initial load or jammed on reload. 3 total failures. Also they indicated ONSCREEN that they were shooting three inch shells when the failures occurred. I have experienced that this firearm WILL NOT load 3 inch shells from an open bolt with a full magazine. it will with four shells loaded indicating that the spring is too weak or there is an issue in the feed ramp. My bet is the spring. 2 3/4 shells will load from full mag but i had a failure to load on the first or second round on the 5 round mag.. Forget the 9 round mag. If your life ever depends on this shotgun grab a club. It is the same thing. Damn sorry that I spent hard earned money on a brick.
