Dude, this happens all the time. I ran liquor stores for years. What usually happens if the bottle is broken on the bottom side, it means the case was at the bottom of a stack and a delivery driver or liquor store employee used a dolly to move it and the blade hit the bottle. If the top of the bottle is broken it's usually because a liquor store employee was standing on it or dropped something on it. The reason you're not seeing any liquid in the bottom is because the bottle broke a long time ago. I can tell just looking at the packaging corners that the cardboard was wet. This isn't some conspiracy, it's just a broken bottle.
