If I ever travel in something resembling Business Class it will probably be the Premium Flatbed option on Air AsiaX. This video helps to confirm that view. Edit: I wouldn't have called that Jetstar service though. On one international Jetstar flight to Indonesia I found the cabin crew quick and cheerful and our vegetarian food order was brought promptly. We don't drink alcohol but our tea and coffee were also on time. Juices had to be purchased of course, being Jetstar. Overall not disappointed at all.
Hi Pointy End Secrets! I took QF20 a few years ago and it was not a great flight at all. It was similar to your experience. The crew were rude and didńt care when they were serving dinner. I also rode Business Class. I refuse to fly Qantas Business until a significant change happens.
You are a lot of food !!!😂😅. I am in my 40s now so when I travel, I am very careful about what time I eat especially on board as sometimes they serve food in very odd time like 4:00 am brekky which I avoid now days to rest my stomach.
You were just incredibly unlucky on this trip. I have had nothing but wonderful experiences on SIA in biz class. I have to say, I don't think I have ever seen or heard of goodie bags being given out to apologise for a late flight. That right there shows you what kind of airline this is. Have another trip in biz with them this Dec and cant wait!
Thanks for sharing. Getting out of Perth on points in BC is near on impossible. Made worse it seems by classic plus seats introduction. A year out you cpuld usually gets seats. Ie. Perth Singapore was i think 50k points. Good luck getting those now. We are looking for July next year. 112k points. 99k coming back.Cant justify that. You paid 100k Melbourne to LAX in this video. Tried for feb of this year. Nope. Long haul. Zero. In 6 trips to Europe doesnt matter where i fly into i can never bag a seat. We now fly economy and buy our seat and try for upgrade to Singapore. Nope. Never had any luck. Then buy BC seats from Singapore to Europe. Much cheaper option than iut of Aus. Usually around 4k. Flying east good luck also. With Qantas only really flying 737 there just arent the seats. Ive given up chasing seats and just keep banking the points and pay for the privilege of flying up the front. When it comes time to retire in a few years we maybe able to get point flights last minute. I honestly feel its all just become a big con if im honest. But it costs me nothing as i earn points as part oc my everyday so no biggie. Sorry to be negative but just my experience trying to get out of Perth on points.
Gday! Yes I generally use SNIIP or B2BPay for these to earn full points & to meet the minimum eligible spend on new cards for bonus points. I have a full explainer video on my channel, as well as some referral codes if you're interested in doing the same!
did qf19 a couple of weeks ago in the exact same seat. price had dropped to 54k points and i really couldnt fault the service. either you had bad luck, i had good luck, or theyve improved. was on qf20 in cattle class a couple of months ago and even for economy the service left a lot to be desired.
In my view mate, no need to put the disclaimer at the start. I’m looking for reviews of business class services, I want all the things you like and don’t like. From that I’ll make my own view as to whether I want to fly them or not. From my personal experience I’ve found SQ business flights to be very good but not the great I was expecting it to be and I found the lounge at Changi to be so busy and loud that after I got my fill of food or drink I look for a quieter place in the airport. All be it with a bag full of snacks and some cheeky travellers that I can drink on the sly.
Hey come on it’s not all that bad. Flew with Turkish airlines flasgship business class (same as the SQ regional) and it’s heaps better than most other J class products
He did mention several times he was incredibly grateful for flying in the pointy end. His job is to critique the airlines, which he did. Without sounding entitled, I thought :)
How to use your camera to video this visit? I noticed through the mirror that you might put it on your chest or somewhere? Are they aware of you are recording? I recently traveled with LH first class, I was frequently stopped by various people on the plane or in the terminal to remind me to exclude any other person in the camera....lol
G'day! I did used to use a backpack-mount for most of my walk around things, but Etihad actually encouraged me to film as much as I can! Goes to show what airlines are proud to be seen I think! But yes its generally good practice to Blur the faces of other people and staff.
The Bankwest(CommBank) debit card gives 3 points per dollar spend. But their xrates are poor vs others for overseas transactions. Very few cards offer no international transaction fee. Most points earning is not free but some deals are way better. Definitely worth doing if you are smart and play them at their game.
Devaluing their own system and "seemingly" answering everyones problem of availability. Classic Rewards will always be king, but so is collecting Amex Membership Rewards points and transferring them to better airlines...
There is absolutely NO WAY you paid that price unless you are a platinum status velocity member! Also let us know how much money and flights you had to get to that status! Not so easy is it mate?!
Gday! You're right, I am a Velocity Platinum member. I have achieved this consecutively for about 8 years now. This was due to my job as a Touring Sound Engineer, flying around 90 times a year domestically and a handful of times internationally, majority if which are with Virgin Australia and its International Partners. But I almost never paid for my flights, these were paid for by the Artist or the Promoter. In more recent times, with my in-laws living in Brisbane, we also travel from Melbourne a few times a year, and make sure to have our Family Pooling set up (which you can find a video about on my channel) so that my partners points and credits go to my account, to help me maintain Platinum. With all of this said, being a Platinum member holds no benefits in terms of getting Reward Seats, and the points used for paying for them. The vast majority of our points come from Credit Card Sign Up Bonus' (80k-100k at a time), Ongoing "Points-Per-Dollar" Earned on those credit cards, as well as the large extra sign up bonus' you can get on things like Car Insurance and Energy Bills. These are what get us 400k-500k points per year to spend on these trips. If you check out my extended "How to Earn and Use Velocity Points" video, that might get you the insights you need to learn how to get these kinds of points on money you're already spending, no Platinum Status required.
You can only Pool too/from one person at a time, but if you fly enough you could absolutely get yourself to gold and then change the pool over to get him to silver. It would arguably be better to just continue pooling to the one Gold account to ensure it is renewed for the next year (or even reach Platinum!)
Just a correction - SQ do offer a pre-flight champagne on this service - you just have to ask for it. Has nothing to do with the taxes or duties on alcohol, but more to do with the time of day...
Brother, Thank you so much for showing us to use Air NZ lounge in Melbourne. I used SQ business from Melbourne recently and after watching your video, I used air NZ lounge and it’s 100 times better than SQ lounge in Melbourne. It’s was a great tip you showed us!!! Thank you so much!!! 🙏
Great trip, I can't even find a travel agent to get me a deal flying from Adelaide to Paris yearly. They don't seem to know or don't care about working out a deal. I tried it with Turkish airlines business class but because I wanted to fly to Kuala Lumpur on economy they wouldn't offer a deal . Australians get screws on flights and taxes. Still hoping someone will show me how to get at least business class on a deal.
Great video mate! Saving hard to fly MEL-SIN next year in First for the Singapore GP. Think this video was just the motivation I needed to make it happen 😂
