Welcome to the channel! I’m Jake and I hope you’re ready for some fishin’! For as long as I can remember, I’ve been passionate about fishing. That passion came from being taught how to fish by my Father and Grandmother(Grimas). When I was a child, it was cane poles, Zebco 33’s, creeks, ponds and rivers. As I aged, it grew to target fishing, research, and implementing the things I learned from magazines and other anglers. To this day, I’m still just an old bank fisherman. So, most of the footage you’ll see will be bankside. But, that’s ok, because that’s where fishin’ got its start. Come along with me, I hope you enjoy some of my adventures, learn a few things along the way. Whether those lessons are from my success or failures. Either way, YOU CAN’T CATCH EM SITTIN’ ON THE COUCH, folks!
Ehhhh. From the bank is hit or miss. Been a lot of big fish taken out. Coupled with the irregular warm water discharge in the winter. It’s definitely not the lake it used to be.
@@jigginwithjake2796 I wonder why that is. I plan to check it out sometime soon. I live only 45 minutes away. I have good luck at Washington county lake. Catch tons of channels 15lb and under, 15lb being a Biggin for that lake
I’d say any sit on kayak that is at least 12’ long and 30”+ wide. Quality is a big thing. Cheap kayaks are soft when push on the walls. Good kayaks are strong if you push on them. So, depends on your budget.
For reference. I have a Wilderness System Radar 115. My brother has a Sundolphin Boss 12. My kayak doesn’t flex if I push on any part of it. His does. Mine was $1,200.00 and his was $600.00.
Sucks about the rig. Ive had concerns about those things myself. Too many knots/weak points. The less connections the better for me! Ever try a big float?
Big baits great hooks GREAT BIG FISH!!! Jake can put em in that wilderness system with ease nocturnal nation hooks in big gills pre spawn making it look easy...
I have fished at Dawson Lake, Lake Bloomington, Mackinaw River, Money Creek, Kickapoo Creek, all good fishing places. Wish I still lived in Illinois, miss the variety of fish I caught and all the back in the woods places most would never know existed. Enjoy your videos Jake....
I was so busy all spring I wanted to get down to Springfield lake to try to catch one of them from the bank . But now it end of June hot and I probably missed the bite but I have no idea where to start down there anyway lol Happy Father’s Day love your videos 👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸
