Thanks for the feedback Dan, I noticed that too!! This was my first voice recording video and I have tried to work on that in my following vids, hopefully getting a little better each time :)
This is what I've been looking for to base my skaven, have a question though, what other things would you add to larger bases and to add variety to smaller ones? Happily subscribed too
Hey - these will look great with skaven! Some ideas to mix it up a bit - for larger bases you could buy some plasticard pipes and have some pipes running along the wall instead of a sewer grate and you could also do a few where the models are in the water vs above it to mix it up. For the smaller ones some pipes or 'in water' would also work but you could have some with lots of moss on them or some that are all cobblestone or others with small drains which you could achieve by just cutting a little hole in the cobblestone (or stick it right ion top and paint black in the center , maybe like a washer would work (google "hardware washers")
Stalagmites are mighty and grow upwards from the floor. Stalagtites cling tightly to the ceiling. That was a way of remembering a science teacher of mine taught me. Very nice board though. Absolutely love it.
This is an interesting piece and your weathering looks good, but where are the sandbag redoubts and extra bolted on steel panels? With such little cover your gangers will go down when shot at and be likely to be grabbed off the deck by the first tentacle or giant spider.
This looks absolutely fantastic 🤘 My only critique is that I think the base/water should have been a bit less square but I understand that was due to the container that you used so what are you going to do 🤷♂️ All in all it came out stunningly beautiful and I don’t think I could have done better myself (which is saying a lot because I haven’t kitbashed anything in quite some time) I look forward to seeing more of your projects ✌️ Ps. I’m absolutely shite at painting vehicles so in that aspect alone you have outdone me by leagues
Thank you!!! I love that you mentioned the rectangular shape as I was agonising over this and finding a mold for so long, I made a custom rounded one that leaked everywhere and eventually gave up when I found this perfectly sized container!
Brilliant! Also, the ”step #”-thing was fun and reminded m of a video I made 12 years ago: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-LyxXKC_PGUA.htmlsi=M_eUp0K-yorOU-nv
Absolutely brilliant build! I had been wanting to make some sump craft, I now have a much better idea of how to do them. Also the nail art transfers are genius, thanks for that tip as well. Cheers!
keep up these tutorials, super unique! i likem. for me personally, i would need designs that dont change the height of the models (because of gaming with the minis) but those are inspirational at least
Thank you and yep I know what you mean! It’s probably better for a display model or centerpiece. That extra base height won’t help with transporting your minis either that’s for sure 😅
Haha, glad you liked it, let me know if you have any questions when you start your piece :) - and these Cats pretty much photobomb every video - this time he got to star in it as Catzilla 🐲
Thank you for this. I'm also going to paint my pipes as Brass now. I really dislike the color of Copper so i have been torn as to how i should paint mine. I was going to do them Rusty (steel) or really dirty Stainless Steel, but now i have a nice long lasting, corrosive resistant, alternative. I have loads of new terrain waiting to be painted, thats why im looking at videos like this to find tips and inspiration. Good work my man, good work. Keep em coming.
Thank you!! I’m so glad this helped. That particular brass is such an interesting color as well. You will know what I mean when you put it on and it covers really well. Recommend going over a brown base coat if you can manage it, works great with a dark brown wash or turquoise for some verdigris :)
Those look amazing! They also seem very fun to put together. Hey, I just found your channel and subscribed. Can't wait to check out your older videos! -John
Thanks and glad you liked it. Just kicking this channel off but have some really fun stuff in the works right now, looking forward to putting them up in the next few weeks!
