I also hear overcrowding. understaffing, and under paying isn't a big concern. It's impossible for these things to be the biggest issues, yet there are not many people complaining because they are happy with what is happening. This significantly effects every reason we send children to school. Maybe the truth is people aren't complaining because it falls on deaf ears or you suffer consequences of being silenced. While my response seems emotionally driven and the unhappy answer that's the furthest thing from the truth. This is the 1st post I've made after days of going over my feelings and thoughts and educating myself on the issue I am currently experiencing with my 7 year old elementary school daughter. I don't want to have to be loud or fight or plead my case for her. My daughter and I have fought for 3 years straight to get just a little bit stable after learning the world was completely different then I grew up being conditioned to know it. My daughter started school last year half way into it and did wonderfully considering she had been through trauma and homeless. We have been open and honest with our journey and the start of this school year has been nothing but a disappointment. We are hoping to make the experience a learning lesson but right now it's hard to see anything except a group of people who should know how handle a situation as incapable of empathy. My daughter is missing class every day and I'm threatened with jail while the school literally has no solution offered. I am expected to just make her come to class instead of working out a way to solve the problem. Not one person there can hear her concerns and fears and solve them. Parents that want to complain are in fear of going against the words of the staff or maybe it's just me. If I say nothing I don't have to worry about what happens to her when strangers have my child but if I say nothing I'm teaching my child her voice is silent and she's not protected. This is a game that is played in way too many places including shelters and places that can give assistance to those in need. I just hope one day our story can make a difference and that eventually having a voice is the acceptable answer. If you don't agree with most people you are the problem or ignored. I think many parents don't say anything because the benefits don't out weigh the risks. Maybe I'm negative or emotional but there's no way what I'm saying about the situation is acceptable unless you just don't care about this 7 year old child. It hurts because I know I'm not the only one and I know how these decisions will affect a child as they grow up. A parents decision to complain about school is bigger than many see inside the emotional framework for growing children. It's not just to make a child happy or whether they listen to you. Power and control is scary in the hands of those with no empathy. And.. the classes are too crowded for her to have any other teacher. So.. she is missing class and already behind because she didn't start school last year on time. I am being as logical as I can but eventually I'll be loud or silent.. that's the only other way if going unheard and misunderstood.
When I lived in the Davis Shores area of St Augustine just having a high tide was reason to have flood insurance. You are right, traffic is horrible, taxes are overbearing, particularly in the city, homeowners insurance is extremely expensive. Moved away in late 90’s and praised God for that opportunity. Everything wasn’t bad however as the food was good and the beaches are nice. I still go back for a day once or twice a year and am reminded of my great decision to leave the area. Oh, I would be remiss not to mention the gnats that roam the city and the beaches at night. These minuscule little creatures are invisible, known to the locals as flying teeth a squadron of 30 or so attack your body from every angle. You can’t see them but you sure feel them. Rent don’t buy and it will be a quicker retreat when you’ve had enough St Augustine!
When the average home sale price goes up, that does not necessarily mean that the average house is selling for more. It means that expensive homes are still selling and probably less cheaper ones. If you looked at the price per square foot of home sales each month, that would be a little more relevant, although high-end homes tend to have high-end finishes. Maybe average sq ft of the homes that have sold would be indicative of the real trend? Nobody should think that when the average home sale price goes from the 300s to the 500s, that the same house now costs 200k more today.
1.EXPENSIVE RENTS - shitty salaries/jobs. 15/16USD hour mostly. 2. NO USPIS IN 20-30 MIN OF DRIVING! Basically everywhere to get you must drive at least 20-30 min! 3. NO RESTAURANTS/OUTSIDE MARKETPLACE TO SIT DOWN OUTSIDE, PARKS 4. NO SHADOW!!!!!! TREES HERE ESPECIALLY PALM TREES DO NOT GIVE YOU ANY SHADOW!!! 4* Palm trees are artificcially planted. 5. STUPID DRIVERS NOT USING BLINKERS AND HORRIBLE TRAFFIC LIGHTS 6. NO WILDLIFE DIRTROADS/MEADOWS JUST GO OUTSIDE FROM COMMUNITY pros: 1. Weather 2. Beautiful communities - well maintained 3. Golfcart community :)) 4. Warm ocean water 5. It is nice here if you are Rich and you do not like nature
Hi Josh, great video that covers a lot when choosing to move to Florida. My wife and I are going to move to St. Johns County early next year. My son is having a house built there and we on the other hand need to sell our home in San Jose, CA first, then move into a Ready To Move Into home.
I am thinking of buying a townhome I’m blue ridge cottages - One row of homes is high up on a very deep retention pond that sits next to lake Robinson-SC . Does the same pros/ cons apply? ☺️ Ty
Um…what about animals (reptiles) that may inhabit the ponds?? I also was told some HOA that have lawn care won’t let homeowners fence in yards by ponds for ease of care 🤷🏼♀️
Perfect! I just checked my new construction home that I close on next week to see if the builders but one in and they did without me even mentioning it! Thanks for the info💪
This is a RIDICULOUS concept. Houses nowadays are getting crappier and crappier, while getting more expensive. And, if you live in an HOA community, rest assured that they'll be plenty of HOA "Karen's" to keep your life "interesting". RUN (don't walk) away from a community like this.
It's the infrastructure outside the neighborhoods where the county is responsible for not within Nocotee, Silver leaf, etc.Take a look at your background, is that overcrowded? Vote Anns and Clay new county commissioners who are not in the developers pocket.
That's going to change !!! With people moving here from California and New York to escape these taxes, it will inevitably change the state's costs,to rise in time .government will become creative in process of taxation ....which means higher and more taxes for You and Me !!!!! So !!
I've started getting calls from companies that quoted a pool for me in 2022 offering "specials"...basically about 10% less than originally quoted. I'm definitely holding out until this all plays out.
It's not rocket science, folks. Keep your grass cut short, and keep your yard as free as possible of things that snakes can get under. That's about all you can do. Watch where you step and watch where you put your hands.
I can certainly appreciate the ideas behind this video but I think you're seriously downplaying what many buyers would consider poor quality construction methods but worse, outright unethical behavior. It's true we all need to practice patience and gratefulness but that doesn't mean you turn a blind eye to what i believe are willfully deceptive practices on top of poor process oversight
While talking about moccasins, you show a different species. How do you know it actually was a moccasin? On top of this, most dangerous is broad, the most bites come from moccasins, but the deadliest is the eastern diamondback.
