I need help setting up my machine I have sent inquiries to your staff. I cannot connect my machine to my computer it just says that open builds has crashed or something. I have been fighting with this machine for weeks now. Please respond to me please
Yes, the OpenBuilds anti-backlash nut, made from durable Delrin plastic, is designed for long-term use and excellent wear resistance, ensuring reliable performance over time.
Yes, you can build a CNC with this machine, but it is more suitable for light-duty applications such as lasers and drawbots, as it may not handle heavy forces on the system. If you are interested in a CNC-style router machine, please consider checking out our LEAD Machine series here: openbuildspartstore.com/lead-cnc-1010-40-x-40/
Thanks for a very detailed video, not only for showing how to put this particular machine together, but also for demonstrating how each of the parts could be used in your own build 👍 NOTE: At 6:35 / 17:27 place the second plate against the rail to ensure it is at right against to the first plate ... doesn't make sense to place both plates together as they will obviously be at right angles to each other!
Do you know how I would hook this up to a Demon controller? Using a printer cable that eventually converts to UART doesn't seem to power it up. I can't even seem to get it to update using the Flashdrive and the software that is downloaded to update it when I hook it up to the computer. About the only thing I can do is play that little game.
Hello, for personalized assistance with connecting your OpenBuilds interface to the Demon controller, please contact our customer service team at support.openbuilds.com/support/tickets/new . They'll be able to help you troubleshoot the issue effectively.
@@OpenBuilds I did. They did not help. I sent another message haven't heard back. I would love to use it though. They only sent me copy and pasted material.
@@iwannaapple7190 OpenBuilds can provide support, when possible, but unfortunately, we do not have the "Demon Controller" in our inventory. Therefore, to ensure the most accurate information, we recommend reaching out to the manufacturer directly or posting your questions on the OpenBuilds forum. On the forum, you will have access to individuals with varying experiences and knowledge who may be able to assist you. openbuilds.com/forums/
@@OpenBuilds I heard from them again and I appreciate your responses too. My only problem is there is another chip card on top of the Arduino board. I don't see any bolts holding it there but something is and I don't want to go around and yanking on anything to access the Arduino board. I'm not familiar with how things like that are usually done. But they have offered a return. I either sell the demon or buy the blackbox OR figure out what is holding down the demon shield chip card that is on top of the Arduino. I just wish the reviewer on openbuilds website would have explained how he did it. Thats the only reason I bought it-that and my battery swelling that I had to replace on my laptop for long carve times.

Thank you for your kind words! The LEAD 1010 uses a lead screw for driving. You can look over the parts list of the Plasma Add on here and see if you could modify it to make it work with your machine. A great thing about OpenBuilds parts are they are modular in their nature. openbuildspartstore.com/lead-cnc-1010-plasma-add-on/
A LOT OF INFORMATION GOOD JOB FINISH WATCHING TONIGHT I AM PROUD OF YOU BOTH ÀLSOME CUTTING EDGE TECHNIC SO FAR THE I MADE IT TO THE TWEAKING OF THE GANTRY BY LOOSENING THE 8TH RISER BOLTS IS AN AWESOME IDEA I'M GOING BACK INTO THE GERBIL SYSTEM TO CHANGE YOUR DIRECTIONS YEAH SO FAR SO GOOD YOU DON'T EVEN NEED TECH SUPPORT IT'S ALL VERY WELL EXPLAINED IN SELF-EXPLANATORY COOL GOODNIGHT
Hello, the Genmitsu PROVerXL 4030 uses a standard tool length sensor connection, which should be compatible with the wiring and functionality of the XYZ. Here are the wiring docs for the XYZ probe, which should help docs.openbuilds.com/doku.php?id=docs:xyzprobe:wiringgeneric
Looks like the fix is in for open vector images and we can now cut lines without needing a closed loop. I think I will give the software a try again. Thanks
After my test run it is still up for question as to if open loop vectors can be cut. I saw the OpenBuilds wrench guy design file in this video was updated to not have the fold lines cut as open loops rather indents. That could have just been for added strength though. In my test run I did a few straight lines and the software simply cut from right to left and then just cut a straight path back to the start of the line left to right. I also did an "L" shape, and it started in the corner and cut out one direction cut back to corner then cut the other direction and cut back to corner again. Better than previous where it would cut diagonal and not follow lines, but still double cutting some paths which can lead to issues. I have not tried any open loop designs with an arch yet, So I am not sure what path the return cut would take. Guess this is something I need to test. I want to add I do love the OpenBuilds App and will continue to use it. I will just need to be sure all of my designs have closed loops or do a test run to verify double cuts don't cause issues.
@@digitizer101 Thank you for the feedback and for the kind words. We love CAM too and continue to work on it as we are able. Please post any findings into the git issues so they can be added to the fixes cue. github.com/OpenBuilds/OpenBuilds-CAM/issues
I have been looking for a video of this for months, I was watching Conan Obrien's police officer video and this was on my list to watch. Thank you for making this!!!!!
Anyone help me for this topic about 'please wait for machine to be idle before joging'.. I don't know what is this problem how can I fix this problem anyone help me. 😢😢 my machine is not running
Wow! Massive span. What sort of weight of laser module can it support before deflection becomes an issue? Some of the high quality powerful modules are now over 1000 grams!
Thank you for getting in touch. It's important to note that diode lasers are most effective on materials that can absorb light. Thus, they may not be the best option for cutting clear or white acrylic since these materials reflect laser light instead of absorbing it. For cutting clear and white acrylic, CO2 lasers are generally the better choice.
How about suggested cord management? Probably going to replace the cord with a 18ga 18’ to run it through the cable track but it’d be nice to see an example of the default cord.
