So glad you involve your kids. I wasn’t as interested in mechanical things as my brother then, but I cherish the memories. The best people too. Always an interesting adventure, like having someone yell at you “Your truck is on fire!” on the freeway. Good times! Edit: Nice new rig!
Thanks 👍 yeah I hates selling my blue truck, but it needed both turbos replaced, all the lines and gaskets… I could have done the work, but it was too small for my growing kids too… “new truck” is a 2013 model, and ironically the 5.0 doesn’t seem to pull as good as the 2.7L but it sounds way better
Somehow lost what I was typing, not my week. Anyhow my sears ss16 twin only cutting with center blade. I pulled apart and found nothing broke. Cleaned everything up that was packed under cover and greased at fittings. Why is only one blade working? What is the purpose of the pulley on the spring? It was difficult to move by hand, but upon squeezing belt together that spring pulls moved with ease. Is there an adjustment to tighten the deck belt? Thanks.
Probably the belt that drives the blades is too stretched, or the outer mandrels are siezed or sluggish turning, or the belt tensioner which is the pulley with the spring is not putting enough tension on the pulley. Could be that the belt is rusted incorrectly too. There are free manuals at www.searstractormanuals.com
@@crankysports thanks for the response. I just got the blades sharpened and going to put back together and try. I was shocked belt nor spring broken. It was packed with grass and dirt. Even grass between belt and pulley. Hoping clean up is all I needed. Hey, in your video you show the one pulley was loose. How did you fix that?
It’s the original color - the closest thing you can get now is rustoleum hammered verde green. You have to do two very light coats so it doesn’t get the hammered look, then probably clear coat it
If you play a lot then you suck more than I thought. It is fine to be a beginner or just a once a week kinda thing. But you showed in this video that you do not know what you are doing and you really need some lessons on cymbal hole making and also drumming in general. Watching you struggle to get through the cymbal and needing it clamped (I assumed it has warped areas from the clamp) had me worried.
Hello, I have a Sears Super 12 SS that I just pulled out of the shed, I really want to restore it but am having a hard time finding how to diagnosing when or not I have a bad magento on a techumseh motor. Was a great all around tractor for everthing with all the attachments I have, Really would love to get in touch with you about parts you may have or best ways to help with this process. Got several Johndeeres now, but love this Sears Tractor. Its Great to see a website with new stuff. Good Job,
I'd like to replace the carburetor on my P220G. In looking at the situation, it appears that I would need to remove the bolts that hold the exhaust flanges to the head, in order to access the intake mounting bolts. I don't want to twist off those exhaust bolts, however. Is there any other way to remove the carburetor ?
You can’t get it through? That’s the only way I can get mine clear. Sprays don’t work, a carb dip or ultrasonic cleaner may help but I’ve never used either
I have a newer equivalent to John Deere 316 that i am building a 3 point for it i have a draw bar for it im a bliever that a tractor is a tractor no matter how big it is especially when you use it on a hobby farm or landscaping like i do because I have a set of 4 way hazards an a smv sign on it for landscaping and any other time i am on or near the road useing it i am autistic so i have my own way of doing things since if im ever going the road im only g like. 5 miles up the road at max hauling mulch limbs ect. and in most cases not even that
Love your detailed video, thank you! I am looking for an Onan carburetor rebuild kit NHC for a 38320 25 horse Onan made in Japan by Nikki I think it’s probably the original carburetor having problems with having to run with choke pulled out.
I think that is the onan Nikki carb- the carb has a round air horn correct? Not like the square carb in my video? You can buy a whole replacement carb (Chinese though) on Amazon for about $40
@@crankysports 6100-0415 that’s the number stamped on the side of the carburetor sorry I had the first four digits wrong the first time I sent this. I can’t find a carburetor replacement anyplace.
quick question: Is there an adapter for the carb being bolted to the manifold so that you don't have to remove the intake manifold to take the carb off?
Subscribed.. I've watched a few of your vids now and figured I probably should subscribe being that I really like the onan motor. But I like the kohler magnums too. I think the biggest reasons people like the cub cadet onan in particular is because of the duel exhaust.. I'd like to put duel exhaust on a Kohler 18 or 20 mag to hear how it sounds.. Thank you for making these vids. I appreciate it.
Now I realize I put a new starter on my onan B48g in my cub 982 last summer Wrong.. I'm about to go change out an oil pan, starter and a flywheel along with tin from an b48g to a P series for another 982 that I have. I will be doing it the right way this time.. Thank you.
Great acquisition! Try running a couple of tanks of gas/Sea-foam mix to see if that will cure the smoking problem. Could just be carboned up rings sticking. Should make a great little tractor!!
hi,i have a onan 8kva geny twin cyl (B48M), you said about brass fuel floats i have the other kind and i am trying to get the brass one. i have been looking for MJ58 at ebay but can not find him ,are you able to help me as i live in australia i can not seen to find one and i am have fuel trouble your channel help me heaps hope to hear from you chrees graham
i know this is a 3 year old video but are those nitto ridge grapplers? and what size, i have the same wheels on mine 17" but want tires just like yours
THE REASON THOSE GREEN GASKETS CRUMBLE IS THEY GET OLD ☝️ BUT THEY'RE HEAT RESISTANT WHICH MEANS ☝️ THEY'RE MADE OF COMPOSITE ASBESTOS SO THEY DON'T BURN UP OR BURN OUT IF THEY'RE FRESH ABD YOU DON'T (OVER) TIGHTEN THEM THEY WILL WORK FINE TAKE IT FROM A 70 YEAR OLD MECHANIC 😉👍👍
I got a couple b8's 18" crashes.. i agree I don't really care for the cheap sound.. but I recently bought them off of a guy 5 cymbals for $100! 2 of them are sabian paragon's 18 ride crash/ 16" crash, amazing deal. butt.. I wonder if I could try sanding them down with a sander or angle grinder "the b8's" to get them thinner and splashy sounding? or to a more "normal" thin crash sound? I figure.. I can at least experiment with them. if it goes wrong.. oh well? or do one like you did.? I can't stand a crappy cheap cymbal sound.
I have seen Alex's channel and he was using the loader he bought from you. I also have a loader on my ST16. Would you happen to know of anyone selling just a loader bucket? And I don't live all that far from you, so if it is around your area that's not a problem.
I have a bucket that a buddy welded up, more of a manure bucket with squared edges versus rounded, haven’t finished welding the supports or anything on yet though, I can’t decide if I want to sell it till I try it. Maybe this summer :)
