Wait so if I activate any card I’m allowed to activate any quick effect before my opponent can? So if my opponent has Apollusa and I normal summoned a searcher could I chain super Polly to my searcher before Appo could negate?
That is not what i said, i said when the previous chain resolves the turn player has priority to take the first action. Hard to say exactly which part of my video you're responding to.
@@LegacyCrusaders Oh I see, I was responding to 5:43. So you have priority on resolution on your effects, not any effect/card activation. Thanks for the clarification.
@JessePeckham-r7h ? As long a monster is on the field and face up it will be legal to activate, assuming you're opponent summoned 5 times. It only resolves if a monster gets tributed and nib can be summoned from hand as in doesn't get discarded and no floodgate is flipped to prevent it from summoning.
@LegacyCrusaders yes but if it hits zero then wouldn't u be able to use meteonis for the ritual of relinquished? Because the card says "equals or exceeds.."?
You cannot you must both tribute monsters and they must have the necessary attack. Tributing for 0 would not require any tribute, but not tributing at all would also violate the rules of ritual summoning, they're therefore it just cannot try it.
@HutchJE never said you couldn't do that. Said you'd prefer to pop it on their turn after they've used flamberge and that you can use ogre and typhoon as you can't use a quick play from your hand on your opponents first turn if they went first.
Fun fact: This is one of those Konami moments, as this should work. As ultimate proof, an identical equivalency: If you can't search your deck, why can you negate the summon of a Floowandereeze if it activates as CL1? Regarding CL2, the field spells have "When: You can", so obviously the field spells miss timing if Metaverse is Cl2
@eyal28282 you can negate summons by effects as chain link one because they're summoned outside of a chain because the summon occurs after the effect resolves because that's what the card says, so it's a game mechanic summon you're negating, at cl 2 or higher or does it in the middle of the chain but after the effect. Metaverse always would occur in the middle of the chain.
That's actually wrong, but only the reasoning. Say you activate Eldlich from hand and CL2 Mechaba to negate the activation. The activation of Eldlich in the hand is activated, and you cannot banish that Eldlich from GY because it's treated a DIFFERENT CARD when it's in a different location.
It's actually the same reason, the then conjuction is relevant as if you do A you then you do B if you can, you can't do b because the card is treated as a new card because it sent itself. Also konami says you can try to negate and destroy, negate and banish or in this case negate and spin regardless that the b part would never be doable because they said so despite most other effects cannot be used at all unless you can do so parts at the time of activation.
@@LegacyCrusaders I'm talking about "unable to shuffle them to the Deck as the card was not where it activated". The only reason it can't activate is the fact that if a card moves to another location, it's considered a different card, so it's correct but for the wrong reason.
@eyal28282 @eyal28282 its the same reason. The card in the gy is not the card that activated in the hand. Card effects resolve where they activate so cryme is looking for the card that was activated in the hand, it can't find it so it can't shuffle it. The then conjuction is relevant because you don't have to send the card because you don't shuffle back.
@@LegacyCrusaders No, I agree with the then conjunction, but just like how "missing the timing" or an "inherent summon" are not game terms, saying "it's in a different location" is also not a game term instead it's a different card.
@eyal28282 im. Not disagreeing I'm saying the same thing. I just didn't use the word different card, but the reason it's a different card is because cards resolve where they activate so by moving as a cost the card that activated no longer exists, the card in the cost location is not the same card that activated in the activate location.
I don't know if you mentioned this or not but "Zombie World" prevents both players from Tribute Summon Set of non-Zombie monsters in addition to Tribute Summon, unfortunately not all players know this & are sometimes quite rude
Hello, from the future and I’m curious what would it look like now given Lacrima, Appo, and Beatrice are all banned? Do we look to a pile with That Grass or do we use one or more of the following archtypes: Unchained, Fiendsmith, Yubel, Snake Eyes, Chimera
idk what everyone else is doing, I've been on the same list for a while as I was never playing the combo snake eye builds as to me they're just worse snake-eye by being bricky with or without the hand loop combo. You can make this better, evil can search the continuous that searches feast and dumping Garura gets you the discard, as long as you set it before the hand loop. Then you have double decatron + sjette and flood and more with opponent on top deck
Do you think you could make a video going over the damage step/battle phase or one going over what monsters forget when they're flipped face down, temporarily banished, sent to the GY/banished/banished facedown, or brought back to the field after being sent elsewhere?
That is alot of different videos to make, probably some at some point. I have a rule book series, the one on the battle phase covers the battle phase and damage step, id watch my other video called 5 tips on the battle phase, and 5 tips on book of moon. But these are definitely alot of ideas to consider, idk about the temp banish stuff, cause even now it's changed recently regarding shizuku vs farfa. But those might be good to start with. I also cover proper special summoning in my rule video covering other rules right at the beginning cause it's something i missed on the special summon video. I hope you find some of them helpful.
@LegacyCrusaders I'll look into them. I just think monsters forgetting and remembering stuff is probably one of the most important and unexplained rules of the game and not a lot of people on RU-vid or even outside of it, seem to cover them.
@LegacyCrusaders I'll check it out. Still, I think there's still some ambiguity because I don't think many charts go over what a card remembers/Forgets when summoned back to the field after being banished, banished face down, or sent to the GY and apparently there are even some cards that normally wouldn't be allowed to work but somehow do. I think Arise Heart was one of the names I've heard but tbh I have no knowledge of that card. Another topic you could potentially cover if you haven't already are that continuous effects apparently have a priority hierarchy that I was previously unaware of until recently.
This video is just my rule book series covered in like 2 hours, plus a bunch of other videos covering technical things and tips throughout. You can learn the game quicker if you'd be willing to read the rule book, join a judges forum to ask question when they come up, or go to a locals and learn from players to ask them questions. But if you want to do it purely from the couch, 5 hours is a fair length to learn so many of the tricky parts in one place.
1. Update I made an error, when pendulum monsters are played as pendulum spells into the spell and trap card zones, these zones are now treated as BOTH spell trap zones, and pendulum zones, but are only treated as pendulum zones while filled appropriately by a pendulum monster, in this video I said they were no longer treated as a spell trap zone which was an error I made because in MR3 they were separate zones so they were never spell and trap card zones, and weren't affected by cards that destroyed all spell and trap card zones but this was added to the MR4 rule book on page 4 of the rule book but something I probably overlooked since I was familiar with the MR3 ruling on d/d/d Beowulf Except from page 4 "Pendulum Monster Cards can be activated in the leftmost and rightmost zones as Spells. This causes the zone you use to "ALSO" become a Pendulum Zone for as long as the Pendulum Monster Card is there. 2. There have also been updates to what constitutes public and private knowledge in the official yugioh tournament policy documents. This occured after I made this video. Basically if a card was searched, or set by an effect, or used that turn it's public. So if reinforcement of the army was used and added armageddon knight, I can ask did you use reinforcement of the army, and what was searched by it this turn. If Sky Striker Multi-role sets 3 spells which is does secrety, I can ask only during this turn which zones were the cards set in by its effect and what were the names of the cards that were set but not which zone each is in. As soon as the next turn occurs you cannot ask which cards were those cards set in, which were which, what cards they were etc. You also cannot ask a judge what a card says if its not revealed this turn to where you'd have seen it. You are also not allowed to give away private knowledge, so once the turn has past since these things are now private, answering is breaking that rule. You also cannot say I drew x, or reveal y in your hand, or saying no hand traps is also not allowed.
Could of important notes, I did not include in the video, either that I just missed, or were slightly different in previous master rules, very important to know. 1. Pendululm/(XYZ,FUSION,SYNCHRO,) Monsters are first summoned by fusion summon, synchro summon, or xyz summon, and if they would be returned to the hand or deck will go back to the extra deck face down and then need to be fusion syncho or xyz summoned again, should the leave the field be being destroyed they'll go to the top of the extra deck face up, from where they can be pendulum summoned if you have the right scales except for... Pendulum XYZ must have an effect that says they can be pendulum summoned as they have ranks and not levels, but at the time of writing all pendulum XYZ say they can be pendulum summoned if you had the scales to summon monsters with the same level as their rank with the exception of two pendulum XYZ monsters. Pendulum/fusion synchro or XYZ can go to the GY by being destroyed while face up or down in the extra deck, or by being detached from and XYZ monster as XYZ material, or sent by a card effect from somewhere other than the field. 2. While I don't state it in this video, when pendulum monsters are played as pendulum spells into the spell and trap card zones, these zones are now treated as both spell trap zones, and pendulum zones, but are only treated as pendulum zones while filled appropriately by a pendulum monster, in another video I said they were no longer treated as a spell trap zone which was an error I made because in MR3 they were separate zones so they were never spell and trap card zones, and weren't affected by cards that destroyed all spell and trap card zones but this was added to the MR4 rule book on page 4 of the rule book but something I probably overlooked since I was familiar with the MR3 ruling on d/d/d Beowulf Except from page 4 "Pendulum Monster Cards can be activated in the leftmost and rightmost zones as Spells. This causes the zone you use to "ALSO" become a Pendulum Zone for as long as the Pendulum Monster Card is there.
I just got back into the game tried playing mystic space typhoon and people are still able to play their cards effect. What’s the point of this card if it doesn’t destroy my opponents card and neutralize its effect? Is the card just garbage
Destroy does not mean negate, mystical space typhoon does not prevent cards from resolving, other than continous like cards that must stay on the field, which was explained in this video.
normal spells and traps go to the gy when they resolve and dont need to stay face up to resolve their effects, so destroying them doesn't stop them, mst is not good for that. MST is good vs continuous like cards "equips, fields, pendulums". It can also be used to force face downs to be used sooner than an opponent would want to.
@@LegacyCrusaders what do you recommend to replace it. Essentially what I want is the trap equivalent if necessary. So that way when someone tries to boost a cards attack or something I can have counter. So other than “guessing” to kill someone’s back row I want to negate their attempt as that better fits the playstyle if that exists
I didn't know about the U chaining or link monsters being considered linked even if nothing was pointing at them and they were only pointing at a non-link monster (and no co-linking was involved).
I'll respond to your other question later, i need to check the appliancer solo mode to check, I'm not responding there for now so that message stays in my in box
Hey, cool! Q: Duel Masters, training, link monsters with the Appliance types: I noticed some weirdness/inconsistencies? Sometimes I could use the Copy-whatever monster as is for link summons, sometimes I couldn't. What gives? Sorry, I can't be more specific rn but maybe this is clear enough.
Several of the link monsters say they cannot be used as material that turn. Appliancer Propelion 1 "Appliancer" monster ***Cannot be used as Link Material the turn it is Link Summoned.*** This card can attack directly. Once per turn, during damage calculation, if your monster battles an opponent's monster, while this card is co-linked (Quick Effect): You can make that opponent's monster's ATK 0 during that damage calculation only. Once per turn, during damage calculation, if this monster that is not co-linked battles an opponent's monster (Quick Effect): You can make that opponent's monster's ATK 0 during that damage calculation only. Appliancer Kappa Scale 1 "Appliancer" monster ***Cannot be used as Link Material the turn it is Link Summoned.*** You can Tribute this co-linked card; Special Summon 1 "Appliancer" Link Monster from your GY, except "Appliancer Kappa Scale". You can Tribute this card that is not co-linked; Special Summon 1 Level 4 or lower "Appliancer" monster from your GY. You can only use each effect of "Appliancer Kappa Scale" once per turn.
@@LegacyCrusaders Thx for getting back to me! I see but I never wanted to use any of those guys as link material. lol Confusing. Maybe I didn't have the required link rating and I thought you only needed any 1 link monster (regardless of link rating) + the rest could be non-link monsters that met the other requirements.
@@HighLanderPonyYT perhaps you didn't have the necessary material listed without them, and perhaps you didn't have the appropriate zones open to use. I can only speculate without seeing what happened.
When will Konami make a card to punish thieves?? Like instead of just surrendering in disgust when they tribute your monsters there was a hand trap card stating “if your opponent would tribute a monster on your side of the field” Both players take 8000 damage to their life points…
I have a question as I haven't been able to find clarification. If a card says special summon a blue eyes white dragon, for example, do I still have to tribute since it's a special summon?
Tributes are only made on normal summons of high level monsters. Some effects may have costs to tribute, but you do not tribute by default to special summon by activated or otherwise like a pendulum summon. The effect allowing the special would have to say you must tribute or the monster itself would say so. Generally we normal summon low level monsters and special high levels to not have to do tributes. Please let me know if this helped.
@@LegacyCrusaders then how come whenever I do like grinning grave virus, and my opponent destroys 5-6 cards like 3-5 tokens pop up at the end of their turn?
You only summon for monsters tributed it says it on the card, if you summoned 5 tokens, 5 monsters were tributed. I can't comment on specific games i cannot see.
Not really the point, the point is what do you do with only engine cards. Obviously outs to all situations exist but they're not in all decks, and sometimes they're only in the side deck, or you just wont draw them fast enough to do anything..
@@LegacyCrusaders even if we had to dig for It, shouldn’t be too hard, any deck running shifter shouldn’t go above 40, and like I said pots are maxed in floo
To activate a trap card is to flip a set trap card or to place one face up from your hand onto the field. Activating the effect of a trap card that is already face up or on the graveyard is not activating a trap card. It is activating the effect of a trap card.
Bro how to get that card apollousa, bow of the goddess. I'm new player n copy someone deck but i cant get that card form pull or generete n i look on how to get that not give me any info
@@JugoGenre go to deck, go to the deck editor, make sure the box that lets you see cards you have and dont have is selectable, it looks like a solid card and dashed card, type apollousa in the search bar and then craft the card. If a card is only in the master pack, that's the best way to get any card if you have the craft points.
Can you explain why it misses the timing? I and most other people who have been playing this game for years don’t know how all the extra rulings work so saying A does B because C without explaining what C is or why it exists doesn’t really help. Are you saying that because the field spells ability is spell speed 1 it’s not able to be activated in the chain despite being activated by a card effect? I guess that would make sense just not intuitively.
It has a when optional effect. You use it when it's activated to start a chain. It's being activated in the middle of the chain so it doesn't make a chain link.
@Ragnarok540 i here the y sound, the ai can say yugioh better or worse sometimes and re-rolling it to get a better take isn't usually worth it if it's close enough. This is the lower end of good enough for saying yugioh. Most words i can retype to get more accurate pronunciation, only so many ways i can write yugioh and it has issues with the hyphen placement alot.
There should be clause at the start of the rulebook that says *a minority of cards do not resolve as the card may state, see the following list and the correct ruling will be explained* but then they could just errata cards more often…
