I’m halfway through editing chapter 24. There’s still a decent bit of work left but a majority of the tedious legwork is taken care of thankfully. Just need to carve out time for a few editing sessions in the next week or two

That is what I thought when I first watched Stranger Things. I did see some fan art ( I can't remember where!) of Eleven walking hand in hand with Akira.

@@boymeetstv i do a lot of video editing myself, so I know how long it takes. Even on videos that don't have much to them, they still take a long time to do, so I can only imagine the amount of time it would take to produce great content like this. Keep going. This is a pocket on RU-vid that doesn't have many people covering it and you've got everything ready to go. Won't be long before the algorithm props your channel up.

Is there a recap you’re looking for but can’t find? I only have two manga options I’m really strongly considering: Fullmetal Alchemist and Trigun. Those are both manga I wish had in depth recaps (which is how I picked Akira too). I think FMA will be next unless something juicy comes across my desk. I’ve also considered Spriggan, which is an 90s anime I loved as a kid (thought it was better than ghost in the shell 😂). So I’d love to experience the manga for the first time and share that experience I’ve also got a few anime video essays I’m almost done with that id like to put up soon but if I keep getting good manga suggestions i probably will stick to manga for a while.

I don’t think the influence of the anime can be disputed at all! Watching it for the first time is a core anime memory for me. I was surprised to learn how much legwork the manga did in normalizing manga/anime in the US though. I plan on talking about it more later but this manga really helped lay the groundwork for the American manga market. And it’s one of the few manga series to have an official full-color release at that. It’s interesting that the manga doesn’t get more love but hopefully I can help change that at least a little.
