Thanks for video! I used a 3/8 tap. About 2 in deep, threaded rod into bolt and a 3/8 coupling nut to do the pulling on various spacers. Worked like a charm on one stuck rusted swingarm bolt.
I’m just rebuilding my pump at the moment I just looked at the explode after watching your video and noticed you put the seals in the wrong way round as the spring lip should be facing the impeller
The edge and orings should use loctite 518 (or permatex equivalent), not black rtv. Also, i also re-used old thrust washer as mine was too thick as well. Also, you need to use loctite 518 around the surface of the oil seal and put grease inside the lip as per the manual.
What you do. Buy a set of regular boots for mxz's They're one piece rubber. And angled in a way that your air box will sit flat. You;ll never blow an engine again., Or have air leaks ;) You won't lose performance .
Mine seat hight ended up being 4 to 5 inches high ride hight to my seat you don't need to go that high if you don't need I'm 6'.5" and I can sit on it with my knees bent at a 90 and yes I got a 4 and a half inch riser then added another inch and a half with some plastic blocks and it was perfect for me really depends on how tall you are
No clue I did it because the previous owner was a idiot and rode it with the sprocket bolts lose and disk bolts lose and ate a hole in the original swing arm also the shocks are sopose to be a bit of an upgrade compared to the 03 shocks
This voice sounds SOOOOOOOO familiar. I am scabbing a cfr450 front end on a 1000 Sportster and was just planning out the work to scab the cfr460r swingarm onto the bike.
Just put in the vice like i did and use A braker bar try that if it won't put your favorite penitent down where the removal tool go's and let it sit over night
@@Stoneyx420 First off thank you for the reply, but I wasn’t clear. I’m trying to take off the housing that holds the impeller to the engine. I saw videos of people using 2x4 or breaker bars, but mine is stuck so bad, nothing has worked. Any tips would be appreciated. Let me know if you need pics?
Off the top of my head I can't remember but just go threw your tap set and find the one that looks like it will cut threads In the end of the swing arm bolt
No the new thrust washers from the kit I bought was a diffrent thickness then the original one I just re used the original thrust washer . Side note are you Ron Beauchamp son? Turn left!!
No you don't need to align the drive shaft unless you take the engine out the customer just waited way to long to replace the barings and it cause play in the shaft and that made the wear ring and impeller to wear out they drove it all last summer with no issues they brought it back in the winter to get it winterized and said it worked way better then it use to
I’ve encountered a stuck swingarm bolt on two XR-250’s. I removed the gas tank and laid the bike on the left side. After removing the swingarm nut, I began spraying the end of it with penetrating oil. After a day of this, I sat the bike upright and spun the swingarm bolt with a pneumatic impact wrench. The bolt would barely turn so I laid the bike on it’s side again and continued applying penetrating oil while continuing both of these procedures.. While performing these procedures, I would periodically try driving the bolt out with a hammer and brass punch. Once the bolt began moving, I continued driving it out and in about an inch on each side. After about three days of this, the bolt was loose enough to be removed.
I have xr 250r 1999 but my bike has old frame !! My question is how to make it electric conversion so that i can i start it with self start and does it bother to takes any stress to my bikes engine or not ? What can be done !!
Iv never hard of anyone doing a 250 electric start only way I could see it working is if you got your self a trx250x engine and modifieing your frame to fit that engine. I know with the 400s you can take a the one side of a 400ex bottom end and crank and put the xr400 kick start side on said bottom end and have an electric start/kick start or do what the guy did to this bike and just slap a 400ex engine in a xr400 frame and go but as for the 250 never heard of anyone doing it
I don't have a led in the stock headlight just the 2 square leds they came from Princess Auto if you watch my second video I show why this set up won't work
In the second video iv unhooked the leds from the stator and went and got a cheep battery to run them instead if you continue to run this set up it could potentially fry your stator unless you can add an extra winding on your stator or get a aftermarket stator with a light winding on it already
Yes I'm not sure this will work for the round fenders the kill switchs normally only stick if the tractor has been sitting out side for a long time like this one it sat out side for 5 years have you check to see if your points are clean and properly gapped?
