I'm building this one and only just discovered that there is a clear film over the Sherlock Holmes name that you are supposed to remove and it leaves the letters behind looking clean and crisp like in the catalogue. It isn't in the instruction manual.

I dont think you can judge a retired set on price oer part. Seeing as a sealed F40 can go for $300 or more on the secondary market these days.

I love that you touched on the IKEA bins because they do not work well and they waste a lot of space between and like you said move. The only thing I don’t love about the Alex IKEA bins is you can’t actually see all the way back.
