When I was a little kid, my dad welded an eyebolt to the back of my tricycle and took an old wagon took the front wheels off and made a trailer hitch. Then he made stock racks. I would put the dog in it and that was my stock trailer. I havent thought about it in years. Thank you for sharing this build and bringing me a precious memory.
1:00 Sorry but drilling out the holes and inserting rivets is a horrible idea! Rivets are made to flatten on the other side clamping down on the opposite flat side. All this is doing is creating a small bump with only a 1/4" penetration in soft wood. PLUS, now the hinge is not serviceable and you have huge holes in your frame.
I believe that you are supposed to have two or both hands on the angle grinder at all times, never use it one handed. however, that aside, that looks like a brilliant piece of innovation.could perhaps use a fire resistant material for the fireguard, rather than plastic, maybe something along the lines similar to asbestos but not as potentially lethal or toxic!
