First off, thanks for the upload with NO ads, makes so much difference!..Absolutely brilliant story and performance from all, and that smile from Helen at the end,..superb...Pinters dialogue and its delivery is as always, both delightfuly playful and menacing, each knowingly lying to one another or toying with each other and joining in the dance. love how he frequently has a character responding to a question with the same question, like in The Homecoming where Lenny says to Teddy "all this business of being and not being,..what do you make of it, ?..Teddy replys with a condescending smirk "what do you make of it" ..alright, on with the next one, may as well carry on with the Pinter Binge fest.
So many years since I heard this fantastic artist, lost her life far too soon. I will be delving into my archives for her albums, a tragic loss of a superb artist.
Overview Set in the rarefied world of West End boutique owners and fashion designers, The Collection takes as its departure point the moment when four elegant lives are suddenly shaken by the suggestion of infidelity. The sinister anonymous phone call that disturbs Harry Kane at four o'clock in the morning becomes increasingly hard to establish... Did Bill sleep with Stella? Or was it her husband, James? And where does the much older Harry fit into this triangle (or is it quadrangle?) situation?
What an absolutely amazing cast and great playwright/play, just wish the direction was a bit better. But wow, what a brilliant cast - Olivier, Mirren, Bates, McDowell, all together! Superb!
Difficult to tell if this is Pinter parodying himself or not .? Cringeworthy stuff masquerading as " serious " drama . I wonder when Pinter realised he could actually make money and a career from churning out this drivel ? Good luck to him. He got away with it for years.....
