With a diamond knot the ends do not go up through the middle but the end finish on the outside untill the last tuck

As I've just explained on a video the problem is this is not a diamond knot but a foot rope knot which is a diamond knot inside out.
@hanelyp1

The first button tutorial I've seen that doesn't tie you up in confusion. To make it even easier, the start is a Carrick bend.

One use is in making soft shackles. Tie a diamond knot instead of adding a plastic ball.

Yeah milking the cover back is never that easy, it never just goes back in like that. You're talking hammers, gloves, two people pulling on it at the dock, lol, no it's never that easy
@Timberns
@Timberns 8 месяцев назад
The trick is to jerk the eye… Seems backwards but it will pull the cover right over the joint

Waaaayyyy too fast and too far away! I'm a rank beginner. I have no idea what exactly is the tail and what is the standing part of the rope. Why not have a 5-second freeze frame with callouts to explain your terms? Why not have a 5-second close up freeze frame after each step to make it very easy to see where you're poking the rope through? Music, though good, is too loud. Informational boxes are so large they actually cover up precisely what we want to see! And they're completely out of sync with what's being seen on the screen. Very poor quality video as a teaching aid. Edit this important video, please, and re-upload.

If that is the test facility in Hailsham, I worked there for three years in the late seventies, along with Steve Banfield and Wally Standen. I really enjoyed my time at Hawkins and Tipsons as it was known as then. It looks as though the test equipment has been modernised somewhat, but still the same principal.

These videos are terrible for instruction. While it may work for some it doesn't work for many. 1. Don't change camera angles randomly. 2. Use larger diameter rope or zoom in. 3. Don't speed up the video.

Hi. You are doing it the wrong way. The tail has to go first inside, not around. You can see at 4:09 that it’s not locked.
