An enormously accomplished performance of Tailleferre’s only harp concerto. The interplay of the harp and orchestra brings forth the composer’s intentions in a wonderfully wrought and dynamic integration.
Not sure who the young lady is in that cover art, clearly someone overcome with the beauty of this concerto, or perhaps just looking for a lost contact lens. Glad Melcer finally popped up on my suggestion list
Wonderful piece - only heard about this composer this morning! By the way, the tattoo is in Irish "tír gan teanga: tír gan anam", "a country without a language: a country without a soul". The translation to the French is closer - "un pays (=terre) sans sa langue: un pays sans âme" - hope I've translated properly. Not that I'd want a tattoo though!
Bro... I never really looked, but sure, when I did, I saw a Guinness type harp, if that doesn't scream Ireland - well, what does then...thanks for translation.
@@nonenoneonenonenone It took me a while to work out what I was looking at! Not sure what the youtuber was thinking of using this picture? At least it doesn't detract from the music.
I would like to use this music in a theatracal dance session about jewelry.....I saw a stunning exhebition in Leiden (Holland) about all kinds and forms of jewelry...very impressive....on the way home in the car I heard this music composed by Tailleferre!
@@nonenoneonenonenone no shit? and your conscience is so overwhelmed by this static image that you cannot overlook the trivial detail and focus on what really matters here, ie. the music? Too bad for you.
Wow, this is so good... I couldn't explain why exactly (it has to do something with the tone, the articulation and how much he listens to everything), but this reminds me of Sokolov in a way. Bravo mr.Hamelin !
