Hmm...I was very tempted by these, I have to admit that. On the other hand, my Givi boxes have lasted for 25 years now. We just got into motorcycle camping, and I was really annoyed with packing them (my husband just got new SW Motech ADV trax boxes. I packed one of them and loved the process. Have used my boxes until now just to store my bike gear while sightseeing). So I got used Motechs now, same model. Decent price. Something tells me it is plain wrong to put this aluminium topcase next to them. I am not in urgent need for an alu topbox (I have a plastic Kappa one which is shaped a bit impractical), so I might just hunt for a nice used box from SW Motech. They cost a fortune, but are really well built. These look a lot like a knockoff of them, some even have the "X" of the SWs. Strange. Guess I will stay away from them. You get indeed what you pay for...sometimes quality used is better then crap new.
@SandraOrtmann1976 Thanks for the feedback! Agree, buy quality, buy it once. I've given up on it and I'm waiting for the new Lone Rider MotoCase to arrive, supposed to be any day now... Stay tuned...!
I just orderd one from temu, £117 for the 100L, Its more to store 2 helmets or jacket when not in use, but defo will get it locked down with back up methods just incase
I enjoy your videos but find this one lacking in describing the negative features of this product - not balanced review in other words. I own this bag and find it so annoying to have to disconnect the two clips at the front, and remove the bag to fill my tank. The molle system on top is fairly useless as you are not going to attach things to a lid that is taken on and off frequently - give me a map case please. Yes, it is a super high quality build, waterproof, and the mag locks are great. But it is also quite tall and deep when it could be wider and sleeker. There are other better bags which I will be switching to.
@rodjaynes7639 To be fair mate, it's more of a first fitting/install video than a review and at that stage I hadn't used the bag so couldn't really comment. Now that I have used it I agree on some of your points. Agree... it could be wider so it wraps down the sides of the tank or perhaps a little taller. I have used the molle straps to hold a Kriega (sorry Lone Rider guys!) Pouch for my sunglasses and I also slide the arm of my glasses into the molle as a temporary place now and again. Getting fuel can be a pain until you get the technique sorted... I loosen the rear straps (but leave them connected) then slide the fidloks open at the front, then I lift the whole thing back onto my seat. I also have to disconnect the power cable from the cockpit as I charge my gopro batteries in the bag. I'm just waiting on the delivery of the new LR MotoCase and will look at running power to that instead. Only downside will be having to get off the bike to change over batteries and launch the drone. Every 'solution' has pros and cons 😞
My box is very similar, but I have a plastic base plate and it has a screw through the box with a big knob to secure it to the base, so the attachment is plastic no metal like yours and no tubes on the lid to fasten stuff, it does have the 3D printed corners to fit straps. Thanks for you review I think your box is better, you should drill holes in the latch plate once the position is good so it no longer can slide around. Extra work though 😄👍😉😉
The best video ever about the lego GS bike...collaboration with Tupperware 😂, then "Ithchy bts"... you will get a free one! 😂😂, so much fun...and then the comparison with the Pan america 😂😂😂 this one and the video from Fortnine on bike engines saying the BMW engine is a dumb engine are the best ones
Excellent video, thank you for making me laugh loud! Now to the new GSA: it's not a beauty, but the GS, in my humble opinion, never was about beauty. In my humble opinion, the 1250 GSA or the 1250 GS are equally not beautiful. For BMW GS, It's about being different and functional (with its torque, low weight, tele lever, engine that is not thirsty, etc...). And on the 'being different', BMW succeeded on that one. I thing it's not a beauty, but it looks great. Futuristic. I would buy if I was in that kind of engine (but I bought the Duc V4 Rally, which has engine characteristics that suits me better and I do not dislike its design).
@bertranddefrontenac Well put and great points. I think the design will be accepted by the masses eventually, once the wave of surprise dies down. If anything the radical design will work in BMW’s favour... there's no such thing as bad publicity, right? Cheers, Nick
Did you put those under brackets or they were already mounted on the box??? Shouldn't they be monted the other way around? Have you tried that? So the box slides from front to back???
@@mikefreitas1331 they were already mounted on the box. Virtually no instructions included, just a link to an aliexpress page that has no written details, just a couple of pictures!
Great review. I have to share a painter trick for the smell with you guys. Just cut an onion in half and let it absorve all the smell for one night. Regarding the mounting sistem i believe it should be the other way around. It should slide from front to back. Beside the bumps and gravity pulling the box off the plate if you have a passenger they will put some extra force to slide the box off. Sorry about my english. Did my best. Thanks again for the review.
