The first story has always been my favorite. The other story that's great ( don't remember what show it's on) is the man that murdered his wife, he was of course caught but at her autopsy they found out she probably would have had only 6 months because of cancer. Crazy.

in the first case, i always thought the killing had to be personal the moment they discovered the killer put a bag over the head of the victim. if it was a random robbery gone sour, the killer probably wouldn't have bothered to cover the face of the victim.

Karla Homolka made a deal that he police were sorry for once the tapes were found. The tapes proved she was alone with the victims for hours and could have saved their lives. The tapes proved she also abused the girls when he was out of the house.This story also didn't tell you how she surprised her husband by dressing up in her dead sisters cheer outfit to replay the murder. She's just as guilty as he is.
Greed and self intrest are compelling motives for selling very dubious, suspicious insurance policies. I cannot imagine for one second, any loving mother, contemplating the death of her own children, then considering how much she could proffit financially from thier death, then, just incase, taking out insurance policies, making her the sole beneficiary on the event of thier deaths. Maybe if the industry were better regulated and certain policies outlawed all together, or subject to more stringent scrutiny, making the insurers more accountable, then maybe such disturbing events , described in these cases, wouldn't be so prevelant.
