For time / benefits it's a complete waste of your time... spending your time probably making less than minimum wage... I would have just moved on... it's a business loss... not a personal issue
I went through the same situation with a $100 netgear router. I was told by eBay that the best idea is to accept the return and that they would promise to return it in my favor. So I did, the product came back in perfect condition. Almost as like it was never opened. I think the buyer just ended up changing their mind because of how long the shipment took which was two weeks. I’m not sure why cause it only took me three days to get it back. So I gave eBay full accurate details since the buyer mentioned that I listed it as a different router which I clearly didn’t!🤣 eBay sided with me but refunded the buyer with their own money. Not only I was able to keep the buyers money, I was able to resell the item for the same price to someone else. So yes moral of the story is, ALWAYS accept returns!!
I've noticed with eBay you have to accomodate the buyer as much as you can or you will lose. You got lucky in this instance that the buyer sent the item back, they probably didn't have to.
EBay has become a haven for scammers and they could care less , luckily for me I only sold NFL cards and memorabilia so my local card shop can buy from me without any hassle or shipping.
Ebay doesn't support sellers. No rational thought related to policies or feedback. It caters to buyers and they abuse the system while sellers have hands tied and cannot document bad experiences when it comes to buyers. A buyer can give you negative feedback because something doesn't fit them. Even without asking to return. Doesn't fit, don't like color going to throw a rock at the seller. Ebay supports this behavior. Very flawed system. Feedback should be intended to document legitimate bad buying experiences not whether a buyer liked it or not or if it fit or not. It was that way in the past when customer service could look at transaction feedback and determine whether it made sense or not. Now its we will not censor buyers! What? As a seller I can only leave positive feedback for this buyer - so can't even share my actual selling experience and this lazy buyer gets to continue on abusing the system and other sellers.
buyer opened a charge back dispute with his bank today though they purchased yesterday and decided they're pissed that that ebay charged them automatically. I was at a gig and didn't answer the message in 5 minutes. I was planning to refund them their money but now i have to decide if i should ship the item and enter the tracking or agree to the dispute and refund the money. I don't care about refunding the money $123 but will it ding my seller account metrics if I accept the dispute for item not received even though it was within the stated handling time??
Thx. for the info. New sub. I wasn't sure if RG shirts were going to be on your list by but to my surprise, it was your #1. Happy to see/hear that. I am a big buyer in RG long sleeve shirts for myself. I'm not a seller. Thx. again ✌️
Thank you for the information my friend. I have a dispute going on now where the seller sold a coin to me and what arrived was different and fake. I used my sigma precious metal verifier to prove authenticity. Straight out of the gate he was claiming me to be defrauding him before I even had a chance to see if the coin was placed by mistake or he got packages mixed up. (I myself have done that.). So now we are in the process of a resolution and Ebay has to decide. Thank you for the encouragement and I am very glad to see you at least got you item returned....BTW...the coin I paid for was $1500.00.....a little anxiety tried to slip in, but I know that righteousness will prevail.
I’ve been selling for several years. I had my first item lost in USPS. Tracking says it’s delayed, so I’m just assuming it’s lost. The buyer did same thing your buyer did by going to the credit card company. Long story short, I’m out $50 and don’t have the item. $26 for the item, shipping charges and the eBay $20 dispute charge. If it’s ever located I’m sure it will be delivered to the buyer and not me. I guess I’m now responsible for the shippers inept delivery methods. Nice to now. I hate eBay but have no other viable alternatives.
There are ways to get back at the buyer for underhanded dealings towards you as a seller. You have their name, address, and phone number is easy to get. There are so many things you can do in retaliation for this type of action. Turn about is fair play.
Oh, wait until Ebay says that something that you're selling "violates its counterfeit policy" (in my case a 3d printed model, which I purchased on etsy). They won't answer any questions as to what it is counterfeit of, who's IP it violates, or why there are other exact copies of the item they are saying that it is counterfeit of for sale and freestanding(?); they will actively and provably lie to you, and their "customer service" chatbot will actively gaslight you. Then you submit a vero request to authenticate the item, and they'll refuse to answer. They're unfair, dishonest, and at this point, I'd rather sell on craiglist than on ebay any day of the week.
I have had a couple of exactly the same experiences within the last year courtesy of INAD, the magic return anything for any reason (true or false) and am now contemplating quitting eBay as they are grossly biased in favour of the seller.
Sold 100.00 boots may 27th. I ship. Buyer files 5 days later bank chargeback. Reason "order cancelled" .eBay revoked my pay. I file my answer to eBay. Waiting on decision. Item sent insure 100.00,track, signature delivery confirmation. Yesterday may 9th buyer goes to post office to sign and pick up boots.
I sold a pair for 40.00 plus shipping He wanted his money back cuz he said they were stretched out. I let him keep the shoes and I had to eat the shipping of 15.00 Bravano what do you do in that situation
I don't know about you but before selling put a little effort into conditioning and polishing the shoe. They will look much better and will sell quicker and set a good impression to the buyer.
Just invest in some great shoe polish ( doc martens, Florsheim etc.) And a variety of brushes . I already had some, but I recently purchased a huge plastic case of a variety of shoe polish, many new and great quality as well brushes for $10.00 at the salvation army. I am Good at cleaning them, reconditioning, buffing etc. You can always find videos on RU-vid about it.
I actually find plain black ties made of silk sell well. Presumably for funerals. Sounds morbid but people who don’t wear ties sometimes need one for such occasions.
Thanks for the informative video. I come across lots of dress shoes in the bins. One of my first sales was a pair of used Alden's that sold for $100. Good brand to pick up at well.
There is no investigation. There is no decision. Your evidence does not matter. Whether your right or wrong. Ebay automatically sides with the customer! The C.C co. will decide is B.S! Ebay decides for them. Since ebay had to step in they charged you $20..lol Ebay does not have your back at all. The exact same thing happened to me but in the end the buyer kept the jeans and never sent them back. Ebay does not and will not go to court with the C.C co for the customers money. They will not waste the time disputing over it. My supposed decision was made in less than 30 minutes after the Ebay rep said it could take weeks..lol. Complete B.S! When it was all said and done I blocked that buyer on ebay for doing me dirty like that. My advice to all sellers on Ebay.....just accept the return because you will not win!!!
I am quitting eBay, as a buyer and a seller. I sent a buyer 148. worth of items. They were unhappy. I okayed a return. Then eBay prompts led me to refund before I got my items. Now the seller won't send my items. Of course, eBay will do nothing. It is crooked, & there are other options that are less confusing & fairer.
My dispute case brought me here, in my case I won and today I was sent pay out, A buyer once she saw I provided a shipping label filed a dispute and I accepted it and cancel to ship the items, but the buyer was so happy that she thinks she'll get the item despite of dispute, always be positive, I said politely Oh it's ok we lost shipping cost and ebay fees it happens to seller like us ,then after exactly 2 months I was surprised that I won the case and sent me pay out with out sending the items because the intention of the buyer was clearly to scam a seller like me, her messages proved it. It's an LV Speedy costs $450 once the buyer bought I've lost shipping and ebay fees almost $90.00 it gives us seller so much hassle when there are scammer/buyers but we really need to stay positive.
I am dealing with a similar problem. The buyer completely destroyed a perfect pair of $500 shoes and filed a not as described claim after 60 days. I have been selling on Ebay for over 25 years and never lost a dispute(only happened twice in 25 years). Now 2 cases in the last 2 months... customer service lies to you on the phone and says the dispute will be decided in your favor and that you have seller protection. Ebay only protects itself. It is very sad....
@@PraveenSrJ01 What good a police report will do? It's the word of the buyer vs the seller. How will the police find the truth? there is no task force for Ebay returns or CSI. The police doesn't know who is lying. The police doesn't know what shoes the buyer got or what shoes the seller got back. So why waste the police's time and taxpayers money.
