Good video. Movement is definitely key. I've got 500+hrs in Hunt. Took a year off and now I'm trying to get back into it. I thought I had gotten over 'gear fear', but the curse continues 😑. My strategy is taking a pistol and running at trios and dying. 🤷I figure I'll stop caring about dying if I just do it over and over. My skills belong in 1-2 star lobbies, yet somehow I've stayed in 3 and 4🫤. I die every game and so far I haven't hit the point where I'm like "hey, this is fun". Any suggestions for making Hunt fun again and getting past gear fear?
Something that helped me was focusing on a couple standard guns to practice and get good with, get that lebel or mosin, their cost wont kill your bank really
@@Luke-pb4gm I have had a pretty major life event over the past few months. I will be coming back I left part 4 about half done. There will be more and I excited for Hunt's new engine!
@@CircusYT hey, i'm glad to hear you're still here! started playing hunt recently and these videos were super helpful! hope everything works out well & i'm excited for the next upload
In addition in Healing Water there’s a double clue as with many other compounds where you have the chance of getting more than one clue from the same compound
Other compounds that include double clues are First Testimonial Church, Pelican Island Prison, and Weeping Stone Mill on DeSalle, Nichol’s Prison, Lawson Station, and Fort Carmick on Lawson Delta, and Blanchett Graves, Healing Water Church, and Port Reeker on Stillwater Bayou. Happy Hunting folks! Go and get those double clues!
Ive tried switching to double regen and no medkit perks, honestly had mixed results. Ive ran into way more moments where Im stuck out of the fight for twice as long either waiting for regen (both the delay on its effect and the overall regen time) or using a base speed medkit and having no vit shot. Even if Im not stuck essentially leaving the team behind so I can full heal or at least enough, the extra time it takes feels agonizing. I think Im going to still take physician for the sake of having a faster on demand heal that still supplements the regen. Plus with the prevalence of bleed and fire ammo, I find myself using the medkit to both stop the ticks and heal the aftermath in one go.
Regen has been nerfed since I made the video and I mostly agree here -- it's been slowed down a lot. I still have been taking regens but I take doctor much sooner again
your videos are very good, even though I fell in love with the game, sometimes I get upset thinking that this game isn't for me, I play solo, I have 50 hours, 150 matches and I've only killed 30 people, I only die... I wanted to feel like I'm improving but with each game I get more frustrated ;-;
Thanks for watching... I'm working on part 4 where I'm going to talk about solos so stay tuned. Solo is by far the hardest way to play when you're new. Have you done much quickplay/ soul survivor?
@@CircusYT I've already started playing bounty hunt, I think it's cooler, but it's hard to find someone who's nice to me in duos, mainly because of my kda, u think I should play quickplay more?
@@wakyyyyyyyyyy947 i don't think it would hurt, I much prefer bounty hunt but quick play has a lot lower stakes and can help you learn the maps and compounds which might help your KD! There's also a lot of great discords you can use to find teammates. Thinking of making one for this channel! And Hunt is a hard game no matter how you slice it. Worth sticking with it though, there's nothing else like it!
thanks for the words bro, I'll continue, maybe one day I'll get better, it's my first fps I'm also not used to it continue with the series, it's helping me a lot since I'm not so much of a beginner anymore, these are very useful tips for the moment I'm in@@CircusYT (and sorry about my bad english im brazillian lol)
I mean one thing I would say if it's your first FPS is to maybe play another FPS on the side to get used to the mouse and keyboard or whatever. The thing with Hunt is that it can have periods of not much happening, you can play for 20 minutes and get sniped without ever firing your gun. If you play a game like Halo, The Finals, etc. You get a lot more time actually fighting and shooting your gun if that makes sense. I think building that familiarity with FPS games would help. Still play Hunt ofc but a more action driven game might help too so you can get used to FPS games
"looting dead players, banishing bosses and extracting tokens with some regularity" yeah, I'm definitely not doing that lol... Hence why I have to run WinC with hand crossbow every match
An excellent guide! You focused on what is needed, didn't go overboard and part 2 covers essentials for transitioning from beginner to intermediate. The only 2 things I'd add my 2 cents on is that packmule is far more cost effective and generally better overall than even frontiersman, especially if you're running shots. It let's you recover med kits 2 at a time instead of one or grab other useful items after using your shots. The only thing I'd question is Doctor. This could just be subjective to how you and I both play the game. I'm definitely at end game, not intermediate, and am often deemed a "sweat". At an intermediate level I think you're completely correct with your assumption, as they often move slower and the fights progress slower in those MMR brackets, but won't they have to unlearn this habit in order to progress? There are times when you absolutely need doctor with physician or an immediate full heal to compensate and while regens are great, the regeneration speed is highly limited, it can allow for pushes that can cause wipes or allow for a single shot to kill you to the chest as you and your team regenerate. What are your thoughts on this, do you think it isn't much of an issue and they can just ensure full health before peeking and that they are just kind of obsolete traits with regens and vigor or that if they progress they should only consider taking these traits as they get towards level 50 hunters?
Thanks for watching! When I made the guide the Regen Shots hadn't been nerfed with the 5 second delay, and at that point I don't think Doctor was worth the points then even in the sweaty lobbies (at least not before offensive traits) since a regen + healing kit + good movement was all you needed in most cases and that basically put you at full health. I was still picking up Doctor, but not immediately like I was prior. Now with the regen changes though, I am probably more inclined to agree that Doctor is super important again. I'm still experimenting with it + regens and whatnot.
@@CircusYT Could be a difference in how we fight as well. We often push hard without slowing too much unless we're surrounded and need to bunker down. Usually we don't have enough time to let regen do its work because we're pressing our advantage and need to be back in the fight asap to support each other. Often without doctor I'd die to an upper chest shot as I'm not above 126 health if I rely on regens or I have to slow down too much. More often than not I find doctor more useful than regens with that group. But I also play with intermediate players and definitely notice regens are super handy as we're often just shooting back and forth at mid to long ranges until we get the upper hand, which is usually a couple of downs and pushing in when they are weak. Which is ironically similar to when I play solo sniper.
8:10 you gotta improve of your ability to read map. Best thing you can do is go to north forest of slaughterhouse, wait a few second if anything goes by, than move to healing waters by looking at your left. Best senario is you will die at healing waters if not camping lol. Best you can do is go to slaughterhouse clue then davant clue. With stamina shot it will take only 2 minutes to go middle of the map from there
1. Your aim needs to be gud. 2. Position should also be gud. 3. Movement. You best believe it better be gud. 4. Don't die. Git gud. Hahah. Great video though actually!!
You kinda implied it already, but I think its worth saying explicitly- when it comes to getting to an area, you want to be there either first, or last. It's the teams that show up second that get sandwiched. For this reason, I focus on beelining the middle of the map, and I really only take clues if they add very little time. 9 times out of 10, if it takes you three clues to locate the boss, you're gonna be there too late anyways, and some other team stumbled onto it first. It's better to just beeline straight to the center of the map and hope you run into the boss compound first, or if you're unlucky and miss it, get there late and start cleaning up the fights
Id say knuck knife is worst of both words but yeah. Equal to knife in pvp, but knife one taps dogs and knuck doesn’t, and you WILL accidentally stab an immolator sooner or later.
@@CircusYT hey dude, enjoying the vids! I like what you said about Romero. That is my safe space gun, but I agree with everything you said about it, it definitely has major weaknesses. I’ve been running it half slugs and spitfire dum dum and it is a blast.
Hey good luck! It's a very unique shooting game and there's nothing else like it. Hope you enjoy your time in the bayou and check out parts 1 & 2 if you haven't!
I've just started playing Hunt (haven't even played my first bounty hunt match yet PS5) and got overwhelmed at the lobby. I didn't know what really was at stake when entering a match but this video gave me a better idea of how the game plays outside of combat. I appreciate you sharing your loadouts! Please keep videos like this coming :)
Been playing since 2018 myself. Thanks for the comment, I plan on doing a more detailed loadout vid soon. Welcome to the game and if you haven't, I'd recommend trying some quickplay/soul survivor and starting with the pistol option!

I'm afraid of being clowned on by PC players with M&Kb while I'm on controller. Do you or anyone else see a lot of console players on this game? @@CircusYT
@@Sgt-hamster There's no crossplay for PC. I am not sure how M&K works on console as I don't own a console besides a Switch, but they did just revamp the aim assist system on consoles. I've seen a couple controller players on PC but there's no aim assist there so they're pretty rare. But yeah PC players can't play with console people as of right now
@@Sgt-hamster There's no crossplay between PC and consoles. I don't know how M&K works on console, but they did just rework aim assist on console. I wouldn't be too worried! There's not many controller players on PC due to no aim assist.
Been sending all of these to my friends that are fairly new to the game and honestly these are the most detailed guides out there when it comes to true knowledge of situational play. Loving these guides dude!
@@CircusYTAlso not entirely true, Big Bounty is not dependent on what’s 1 or 2 bounty just on how many compounds are in the bounty area, if you look at the map and count the compounds small has about 4-6 compounds and big bounty has 10-12 compounds. If it’s about an even split then that’s a split bounty and both tokens are worth 100, small worth 75, big worth 150 each
I'm pulling up to 600 hours in Hunt and sit around 5 star most of the time. Even though I have a really good idea of this game, I love still getting little nuggets of info from these videos and other people's thoughts on their strategies. Even with my time played, I still take in all the info I can that I would have never thought of before. Hope to see some Expert level videos sometime if you have an interest in it!
Could be an idea! Looking to expand to some other topics after I finish the initial guide but I would absolutely revisit it in a more advanced sense further down the road!
