[𝐃𝐡𝐢𝐤𝐫] Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "Whoever says, 'Subhan Allah wa bihamdihi,' one hundred times a day, will be forgiven all his sins even if they were as much as the foam of the sea. Sahih al-Bukhari 6405
No worries brother there are blessings in and of itself when reciting the Qur'an, regardless if you understand Arabic or not. Narrated Muhammad bin Ka'b Al-Qurazi: "I heard 'Abdullah bin Mas'ud saying: 'The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "[Whoever recites a letter] from Allah's Book, then he receives the reward from it, and the reward of ten the like of it. I do not say that Alif Lam Mim is a letter, but Alif is a letter, Lam is a letter and Mim is a letter." -Tirmidhi 2910, Hasan hadith If that's case that you don't understand Arabic, then it would definitely be a good idea to read sound translations and commentaries in your own language. Alhumdulilah we have some sound English translations of the Qur'an like Saheeh International and Noble Qur'an, and we even have Sheikh As-Sa'di's tafseer and Ibn Kathir's tafseer translated in the English language. Ideally you should learn the Arabic language, because no translation can serve justice to the actual Qur'an, but starting with resources based on your own language is not a bad idea at all. InshaAllah, Allah will reward you for your striving in any effort to understand His Book. May Allah grant us patience and success, Ameen.
