We see buildings as more than bricks and mortar - they are communities, memories, and a shared history as well as architecture. Buildings and neighborhoods hold within them the stories of the people and the history that came before, and we want to keep saving those building and stories for years to come.
Celebrating over 46 years in operation Historic Albany Foundation is a private, not-for-profit. The goal of HAF? To preserve and protect buildings that have architectural, historic or civic value through educational programming, technical assistance, community projects, advocacy for endangered buildings, membership, and the operation of our Architectural Parts Warehouse.
My goodness! You are a great discovery! I am making maps of libraries in the UHLS system and would love to collaborate with you to make more maps with all kinds of information.
My brother and I found out after my dad died that he took a substantial home equity loan on our property which I inherited. The lender is being very unreasonable. I'd like to find any loopholes here that I could use to our advantage. We have acted in good faith in trying to negotiate with lender
This is a very nice and informative piece. Very interesting. But, if you are going to take the time to produce such videos, you need to learn that a Lav is the WRONG mic to use, that is why your audio is barely understandable with all the ambient background noise. You need a directional mic, a handheld for example.
We just bought a 1800s home, it has the usual shape of foursquare but no gable window on the hip roof front. It has 3 windows across and door in center with 4 windows on either side. What makes me think Italianate is the simple curved crowns and 4 double set brackets all around under the eaves. We are in Michigan.
1800s is typically a bit early for a foursquare. Italianate sounds like a distinct possibility. Send a picture to me at cmacri@historic-albany.org. I'd be happy to take a look. :)
