This one is a bit buggy/quirky. But, it runs on my old Chromebooks, and that's a plus for me. If you go to the Git repository linked in the description, there are mentions of Windows, MacOS, and Linux adaptations as well. Also note that the Android version is not well supported. I'm getting through it, since I have bought the "Pro" version, but in the long run, I'll probably opt for a better solution. I guess this is going to be the topic of a video soon ... LOL!
Nice. I don't think there's been a good replacement for the WinAmp visualizer. It really just seemed to work the best. Be neat for you to do a how-to video at some point to see how you have it all integrated.
Unfortunately, there are functions of this that just don't seem to want to work correctly, at least on the aging Chromebook I'm trying to run it on. But, I could certainly do a video on the setup -- it would work with any source.
Great stream Geren! Love the jams! I got scammed on a eurorack module ☹The module was fine but I did not get a sticker 😞 I like the look of phrases too! Makes me want to upgrade to 8!
@@AnnaMotionMusic Thanks, Anna! Some of the new “made for Kontakt 8” instruments look really cool, too. I was on the fence about the upgrade, but I’m definitely liking it so far. Of course, it’s going to end up costing more for add-ins! LOL!
Hello Geren, I'm discovering Jamtaba, and I'm wondering if a Eurorack or other Buchla modular can follow a chord grid, like for example a 32-measure jazz grid. This could avoid repeating the same chord in the background for an hour+. I find this very annoying... Do you think it's possible with a 128 step sequencer with a very slow tempo changing the fundamental note? Thx 💙⚪❤
Hi Eddy! I'm not an expert in modular. That being said, yes I think it's possible (anything is possible, given enough money and time). I might suggest visiting Synth Seeker's channel here. He can probably get you better pointed in the right direction. Cheers!
Gladly! I'm trying to think of anyone else who might be able to help. Most folks I know in Eurorack are not making chords, unfortunately. They may do parallel 5ths through quantizers to make sure that all the notes are in the key/scale they're trying to work in, or have multiple complimentary sequences running, but not "proper" chords.
Thanks, my friend! I'm pretty happy with the way things are coming together in the studio. I still have some streamlining to do with the Stream Deck, and I need a switcher with more inputs. But I'm having fun. And, I'm having even more fun with the jams, so I'm def glad you liked that. Cheers, brother!
@@synthsamuraiproductions LOL! Stream Deck is da bomb. Wish I’d bought the bigger one, though. Maybe next year…. The chat overlay is done as a downstream key with my ATEM Mini Pro production switcher. I mask a portion of the RU-vid stream status page, which I feed into the switcher from an ancient Chromebook. All very old school broadcast TV trick.
Never in my life I thought possible to witness so much idiocy in so little time, if you want to add points to your waves you have the icon next to the cursor that looks like the tip of a fountain pen or you have to place the cursor just a little above the line to turn white instead of yellow (which is to make curves) and then click to add extra points. Why don't you speak after you know what you're doing or read the manual (and yes there's a manual) I would stay here for hours to write about the many idiotic things you said like there's no resonant filter. When you turn to spectral mode you're going to swallow so much shit I wouldn't stand next to you if you pay me. Vital is nice but compare it to Zebra is a wild stretch of imagination. Keep trying but don't speak before you know what you're doing. Dunning Kruger pisses me off.
“Kinda a good deal? “😆 deal of the century brother. Woooweee. Roland Renegades 4 life. And there is a behringer on the gas ⛽️ list its the behringer wave. Not out yet 😂 Juno X is a nuts the sound FX are wild. Get a polybrute Noir soon. Slue slue
And, FWIW, I'm still on the fence as to whether or not I'll buy. It looks like sales aren't taking the world by storm, so I've probably got another few days before the price jumps.
@@GerenM63 they market it as a "one page wonder", I have to agree. btw, glad I ran into your channel, probably would have never heard of it otherwise:)
@@synthsamuraiproductions LOL! Between it and the Take 5, I’m hard pressed to say which is my favorite. But if I were forced to choose only one, it would probably be the Polybrute!
Yeah, but you don't necessarily try to do a full-on review of something you've not experienced -- at least not lately anyway. You do offer opinions based on spec sheets or what other people have posted, and I do that as well sometimes. You definitely do get fed by the GAS monster sometimes, though! LOL! I think we all do. And, it's hard to not get caught up in that. But I think we both generally try to frame the commentary in somewhat of an "It's probably not going to work for someone who's looking for a feature that's not in the spec sheet," or maybe offer an editorial opinion on what we perceive as a "missed boat", or "why do we need another thing that does this exact thing again?".
The more I think about it, I'm thinking that the current channel is going to be mostly music stuff with some photography to mirror my website. They're good companions that are becoming established. I'll do the model trains on a sub-channel, if at all.
Geren: "I'm going to try and keep tonight's stream a little bit short..." Also Geren: "... we're pushing two hours so I'm going to make some music!" Love it! 😂
@@drcustomblades2984 Yeah, I hear ya! And, I still really need to make at least one more major change-the big table that houses the MIDI controllers and computer and such needs to be longer. I just really dread taking everything apart again to do it.
HA! I see 'em as soon as RU-vid deems fit to tell me about them. And, I actually look in the comments queue every couple of days to try to make sure I don't miss them.
I think I'm going to have to watch each of your replays again, separately, so I can see what each of you were doing! By having the audio from Jeff, bouncing around to all of you, then spending most of the time in Andy's due to the main chat being there, I somehow got SEVEN minutes out of sync between audio and video! 😬
Hmmm... Did you accidentally pause someones' stream? There was no plan about where the chat was going to be -- there never is with these. The only reason there are more people in Andy's chats is because he has way more followers than Jeff and I do. Happens that way whenever we do these things. Usually, we go raid Luke's stream after the Gallimaufry streams, since he's often streaming right after. This time is different.
I've had my tracker for four years. I use it almost exclusively for sequencing the eurorack but I do want to eventually use it the way it was meant to be used.
My goal when I bought it was to have something I could use as a sequencer in a DAWless "performance" setup to control both internal and external devices. I believe that I have failed it. I've also found that I really like working with Ableton Live much more than I like DAWless setups.
Yeah, I love 'em. Been using 7506s since they first came out in '91. I currently own two pair (at one point, I had three, but I'm not sure where the third (oldest) pair disappeared to. I have replaced the ear-cups on these two. Otherwise, they're just like the day they came out of the box.
@@GerenM63 I have had to replace the ear cups a few times as well! Funny story: when I bought these cans at Guitar Center, the sales guy tried to get me to buy a more expensive "sturdier" pair because he claimed that the Sony's broke easily. Even if my set breaks tomorrow, I would consider this model a great value!
@@JoeJohnston-taskboy Yay, Guitar Center. Must’ve been a spiff on the others. You’d have to be really hard on these things to break them. Mine have been through some pretty rough nights on live sound gigs with no damage.
The "primary" synths, the Polybrute and the Take 5 do get used a lot. Most of the other will certainly see use again! A couple are on the bubble, so to speak. I may let them find their ways to new homes.
It certainly has! I am, largely, content with what I have for now. There is certainly little that I need. The rule for new acquisitions here at this point is that anything new has to offer something unique -- either in the way that sounds are produced, or more importantly, in the sound itself. Thanks for the views! See ya soon!
