At Larger Story, we are joining with Heaven to tell the beautiful story of redemption and restoration. It spans from before time - from the birth of the earth, to Christ’s life, death and resurrection - to today. God invites us to tell His Larger Story, the over-arching narrative that unites all of history. Deeper and wider than merely a collection of events, this story’s meaning is only realized when we see it as relational.
We aim to offer spiritually hungry people online resources and support based on Dr. Larry Crabb’s gospel-centered relational framework. Our resources help you go deeper to discover and live in the love story God is telling. We equip individuals, groups and churches to courageously face what makes meaningful and lasting community difficult and to break through those obstacles to live with purpose and power.
chapter 4 title says GET GOD BEFORE PRAYING TO GET THINGS FROM GOD, --- Rosanne just spoke about it that - you cannot forgive before you know the great forgiver who is GOD , she said people push forgiveness before knowing God..........
i find so much depth and truth in Larry Crabb's books and sermons, even though he's with the Lord now celebrating his glorious rewards... his words still ministers to me through Larger Story podcast, thanks so much Kep, Ken, for carrying on your dad's legacy.
Who is god ?! God is the one who created the universe and he is the one who created the heavens and the earth and he is the one who created man and he is the one who created everything He is one God and there is no other God ....…...........….................. ………………….. Look at Dr. #ZakirNaik on RU-vid You will find an answer to all the questions you want Thank you
On one level, what I’m hearing is that who I am is intricately connected to what I am created for …relationships with God, to which all other relationships point. I think that when we really know this deeply we will naturally put Christ on display in the way we relate to one another, & in so doing reflect the triune nature of God.
Built with the capacity to relate to God, beginning with the capacity to desire deep within the heart. This really makes sense to me when I see that behind all my desires is the desire to know & relate to God, thus revealing my dependence on Him. I can appreciate that being fully alive to God involves relating to Him from all 4-capacities in the following order, according to God’s Design: 1. desire (personal) 2. think (rational) 3. choose (volitional - will) 4. feel (emotion) What goes on in my head and heart dictates how I act & feel, rather than the other way around, which is probably why beliefs are so important. An “addictive” lifestyle that seeks emotional fulfilment / relief reflects foolish choices, based on faulty thinking clouded by corrupted desires. Right living and relating from full capacities starts with the heart made right with God.🙏🏻✝️❤️
Hey Joe Spiccia! This is Jonathan bowling who remembers you from Tallahassee Florida! I literally was just wondering early this morning how some of my childhood friends from Tallahassee are doing and yes I looked you up. This led me to find this video. I'm happy for you that you are married now and you are doing well!
Thank you. Thank you. I was led here after watching Larrys homegoing service. I was led to that while reading "Shattered Dreams" in an extended years long season of pain and grief.
Wonderful work - nowhere else do faithful believers unpack together how God is moving through all of life’s little and big moments (rather than cognitively liquid papering around or over His movements 😢). My wife and I have learned a lot by your willingness to share your inner meshing with Him - what a blessing this has been 🙏✝️😇🙏
I cannot forgive myself for the mistakes in my relationships. Moreover, one of the persons involved told me they hated me. He used the verb in the past tense but even so, he made me understand how awful I was and that I do not deserve to live.
As a 62 yo I'm reviewing what I have been focusing and thinking on to date. Praying for increased revelation and freedom to welcome and experience the plans God has for me, what He unfolds, whether these plans align with my goals or not.❤😌
Thank you, Kep, for taking on such an important role of extending your dad’s influence to the Glory of God & helping memorialise so many important teachings from your dad about connecting and relating authentically. It’s had a huge impact on how I think about relationships, esp. my own with God. Thank you, Kris, for sharing your smaller story within the “Larger Story”, and for the difference you want to make in the digital-world for Christ on an ethical-level!
"Pressure's Off" was my absolute favorite of Larry's books (though it is hard to choose). Thank you for this! I'm interested in those quarterly book clubs and will check them out at Greater Story. Thank you!
Shallowness in the church as a whole, speaking from only my experience, seems to be a common issue now. After trying out about 4 churches I'm still struggling to grow in the body of Christ with fellowship. It's discouraging and makes me feel like there's something wrong with me. Thanks for this video, it sheds a good deal of light on the subject.
Kris here. Thanks for your comment. Yes, it is discouraging at times. :/ It's worth pursuing. I am encouraged you have kept trying! Feel free to check out my conversation about Christian brotherhood if you haven't already. It's a bit long but we address some things that apply not only to brotherhood but principles for authentic relationships. Especially towards the end there are some hard questions to ask yourself: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-cR5_TuVV_Jo.html
So good, Kris. Thanks for this! I couldn't shut it off. And, I'm sure some of these things gave you some difficulty in sharing, Kris, but know that it helped me, and I am sure others as well! 🙂 But as I listened to you, I could hear God saying to me (as well as to you! 🙂 ), "*I* have made you okay! You are ALWAYS okay now, because *I* made you okay, through my Son. Yes, we have alot of work left to do yet, but *you* are okay now, because *I* made you that way. And not only have I made you okay, I have made you such that I am always excited about you, no matter what. If your marriage fails, if you blow it big time in ministry, yes, those things might hurt, alot, but still, I have made you *okay*, and I have made you such that *I* am *always* excited...about you." Anyway, that's what I heard God saying to me, as I took in this talk from you, Kris, and I thank you for it!
Kris here- Thank you for the kind words! I love what you heard God say about us "I am always excited about you." Very dear and profound. May our hearts receive it!
@@LargerStory I think toward the end there, I didn't end up putting the things in bold that *I* intended to put in bold...but it might have made it all more accurate than I was intending! 🙂 What you guys do at Larger Story is helping many of us! I pray God's blessing on you all! 🙂
I understand the perfectionism. I've recently learned just this year that it's okay to not be striving to do, do, do. Grateful for this podcast ministry. God be with you all.

The only way to overcome sin is by the power of the Holy Spirit which we recieve when we are Born Again. Scripture says: Colossians 2:11: "and in Him (Jesus) you were also circumcised with a circumcision performed without hands, in the removal of the body of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ," Jesus removes the flesh nature and we lose sinful desires. Not many people believe in the power of the Holy Spirit to enable them to be righteous and to live righteous. If one is not born again they cannot enter God's kingdom. Ezekiel ch 44-9 "This is what the Sovereign LORD says: No foreigner uncircumcised in heart and flesh is to enter my sanctuary, not even the foreigners who live among the Israelites." Those who struggle with sin do not have the Holy Spirit. They are still under the law because they deny the power of the Holy Spirit and they will be judged by the law. They are trying to control their sins on their own because they don't believe that Jesus removes the flesh nature when he baptises us with the Holy Spirit. They deny that the we can live without sin through the power of the Holy Spirit, who is able to free us from the bondage of sin itself. It is their unbelief in the power of God to deliver them that keeps them from receiving true salvation.
