These are mistakes from people that were used who were not very experienced. They had difficulty getting workers during covid. They hired folks who were not qualified to do the work. Sorry you went through this.
We noticed that too. I don’t think these builder managers are really supervising the work of these sub contracts. We’re the one pointing all the mistakes, if we didn’t check our house 2x a week we’ll miss those mistakes. These builders get your money perfectly without any hassle so make sure your house is made good! We’re not expecting a perfect house but if we shouldn’t see poor workmaship and below average quality!
Hi thank you for this video. I’m curious as to why the inspector didn’t catch these things prior to the walk through? We hired one a few days before the walk thru but we may also visit before the inspection to look over things

Hey how did you get the information on the military base boot camps? I have a base here near me and that seems like a good idea but I’m not sure if it’s a boot camp location and has graduations how did you get that info ?
Each Branch of service has a boot camp location and it’s common knowledge on google so you can literally just google Where is Navy Bootcamp located, where is Army Bootcamp etc,,, hopefully this helps you. Navy bootcamp is in Great Lakes Illinois Marine is in San Diego

I just did my walk-through I asked about the yelloowish stains on the drive thru and the home inspector from the builder not the one I hired told me that they can power wash it, but those were just stains from the drainage. They won’t paint it or anything. Do you know if that sounds about right ?
I’m not really sure, I would suggest ensuring if they said they would power wash it to get it in writing and hold them to that, and if the stains aren’t removed go from there

When I look at my CD, the only thing that jumps out that’s higher than previous deals done with traditional lenders is the origination fee and processing fee that is paid to the HML. The appraisal was on high side and we paid for title which was close to 1k.
@@ASHLEYELYSE_ Ok, thanks for the details. One last thing, is the origination fee the same thing as "points". I've heard both being used and they seem like the same thing.
Nice video and good tips! I agree, if you're building, it's best to do the upgraded light fixtures in the two-story foyer or cathedral ceiling or any room with very high ceilings. For instance, my wife and I paid 500.00 to replace the light fixture in our two-story foyer after we purchased our home a few years ago. The costs did not include the light fixture, which was of equal value, so we were out about 1k.

Building a house in Texas is who you know and what resources you have. Lots of people rather use builders which leaves no room for bargain rather than hiring subs on your own. Obviously you would need knowledge in the construction and real estate industry.
